Hehe "Guardian" and "Overpowered" was two words ide thought ide never see used in the same sentence =PThat original poster is full of BS imo.All I know is that at 23 i do just fine as a group MT but when i solo it really just killing time while a get a group. I spent half an hour or so last night soloing blue^^ level 25 Giants as a 27 Guardian. I got about 15% xp in that half an hour. XP goes fast at 1.3% xp per kill. Now, level 26 Giants kick my **mods 4 teh win!!1!**, but 25s are ridiculously easy. I levelled to 28 last night so, I'll have to focus on the 26 giants now.It's really pretty ridiculous. <DIV>I agree. I use soloing as a test of ability. If I can't kill orange solo mobs handily - somethings wrong. If I can't solo ^^green group mobs - somethings wrong. I haven't had much success with any ^^blue group mobs but since the 1% exp for ^^green moves so fast, I haven't cared much. I do suspect that some mobs t the same level are harder than others ie more than one mob in the encounter, caster v meelee, etc, at least thats been my experience. I'll give the giants a go when I get to 27, perhaps the added arts I will get by then will push me over the edge for ^^blues. Giants swing so slow anyway lol :smileywink:</DIV>

What is so confusing about this?I played EQ1 for years at the high end of the game. The imbalance in soloing in EQ was a downside of the game, not an upside. We are in danger of being in exactly the same situation in EQ2. I played a Warrior in EQ, which meant soloing was out of the question. You simply couldn't solo anything that would give xp, until PoP and light blue cons arrived. At the same time, Necros, Wizards and Druids would make an amazing amount of xp solo because of broken game dynamics. The "balance" that was achieved was that in general, "solo classes" sucked at raids, and "raid classes" sucked at soloing. For folks who wanted to experience the full game, it made neither side happy with their class.Go watch a scout try to solo. First of all, they have no hope of any green con group mobs. Second, they can rarely take out even con solo mobs, and blue con solo mobs give them a run for their money. So basically, they can work hard to get .2% per blue solo kill, or group. While I agree that grouping is the way the game is meant to be played, they should be able to do something worthwhile while they are LFG. In the same time it takes a scout to get .2-.4% xp, I am getting 1.3% xp. How is this remotely reasonable?But soloing isn't the only issue here. So I'm in a group fighting blue^^ group mobs. The only trouble is, they pose no risk or threat to a group because the healer never really has to heal me. However, the group over there with the Berserker or the Monk or the Bruiser or the Paladin is not so lucky, they have to actually heal the tank, and have to deal with the associated downtime. This isn't reasonable or balanced.Like I said, the problem is not with Guardians so much as the mobs. The Blue^^ mobs simply do not hit often enough. This problem was introduced with the December 3rd patch.

Well, this was a bug, not a real statement about how well Guardians perform as a class. The bug's been fixed.That said, I can't see any critical issues for Guardians, and everyone who I have grouped with very much like to group with Guardians. If there is a perception out there that they are ineffective as tanks, it hasn't made it's way to the rank and file so far.
