I dont think I have ever heard so much crybaby whining since EQlive Warriors complained until they nerfed Monks mitigation.... if you guys dont quit it the same thing will happen here.... fix the aggro with Zerkers, and everything will be fine.... crying nerf makes the whole class stink. (I realize it is only a few that do so)

Anyways I play a Monk as my main. I love tanking, it is soooo much fun pulling aggro off of a poor wizzy or cleric that find themselves in a hole. The problem is, I am a ton of DPS and avoidance, but when I do get hit it hurts... bad.

I love doing more DPS than any fighter class. Hell I outdamage most scouts I group up with. If I have a plate class tank with me I am golden, I just trade aggro with them, but when I am the main tank it can get a bit nerve wracking for the healers. Unless I have a shammy, I have never seen a better combo than a shammy/monk, it is amazing to watch how potent those wards are when you dont get hit.

I will continue to play my Monk for sure, but I am also gonna roll a Guardian as an alt, I want to be able to absorb tons of damage, and be an actual mitigation tank.

Alot of monks whine alot too about how we cant tank like a plate class,,, well duh, of course we cant take damage like that. I choose to learn how to play my class before I jump on the crybaby bandwagon, I get creative and figure out how to play my class the best I can. I like to think I give monks a good name when I play, I hope to do the same for Guardians.

For the rest of you few whiners... go ahead and continue being this guy....

Just dont call for nerfs on others......

Message Edited by Blackguard on 12-08-2004 09:11 AM

Only a small minority are crying nerf. Nerfing is never the answer anyway. I think the guardian class is far more fun to play than the EQ1 version, more fun than any class Ive played in a MMO. Im happy (aside from feeling we should mitigate special attacks more) with the way things are right now.

I am going to have to agree. While I was getting a little bit worried at first that maybe the class was a little unbalanced, a few recent groupings have change my mind. I have seen the difference between myself tanking (22 Guardian) and other tank classes and its huge. The last group I was in begged me not to leave because I was such a better damage absorber then they're earlier tank...a Berserker. This is not to say that I myself am good but Guardians in themselves have potential to be great. I kept aggro with taunts and used my defensive buffs to stifle incoming attacks. As long as you put in the time to keep armor upgraded w/current level (Even if it means turning off combat experience to do so) and use your skills wisely there is very little competition in the damage mitigation department.I guess where people are getting confused is that Guardians have the potential to be the best tanks. Just because you choose that subclass doesn't automatically make you the best.
Message Edited by RyanSN on 12-07-2004 09:06 PM
