<DIV>This has been going on for a while, and it's really starting to bother me, so I'll share it with everyone and see if it's just me or if it is an actual game issue.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Example of how a fight went last night:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I pull a mob using anger.</DIV> <DIV>After getting back to where we were camping the monster came running at me, but hit the coercer on the way past. Didn't stop or anything, just targetted and hit him once while running for about 3/4 of his health. (The coercer had not used any abilities at this point.)</DIV> <DIV>I square off against the mob and use my 3 taunts (shouting cry, anger, taunting blow) than use rallying cry, toughness if it's up, mangle, wound, and bury.</DIV> <DIV>Normally this works fine and I hold agro all fight.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>On more than 1 occation the following has happened.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I pull a mob using anger.</DIV> <DIV>The mob runs back into the camp and instead of targetting me it goes straight for the assassin or inquisiter, even before they use any skills.</DIV> <DIV>I spend the rest of the fight cycling every taunt/damage ability I have and usually end up never getting agro off whoever it went for.</DIV> <DIV>I counted once after it went for the assassin, and I used no less than 30 taunts and between all those every mangle and wound I could get off without prying it off the assassin for a second.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>All of my skills are adept 1 or 3 but that doesn't seem to matter.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also, when I do lose agro like that, I use sentinel and it doesn't seem to do anything. I have never(seriously NEVER) taken damage for a party member that I have used one of the guarding abilities on.</DIV>

<DIV>Would you happen to have been fighting Owlbears at the time?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have found that with Owlbears they seem to have some sort of proc (or AI bug) that clears their target off the hate lists for the encounter, thus causing the remainng Owlbears in the encounter to scatter amongst the rest of my group. This generally seems to happen when one of the Owlbears is killed. Can be a little annoying but I have got used to it now, a couple of taunts will normally get the agro back unless your healer has been healing too much or your DPS guys have been AEing.</DIV>

<DIV>It started with the owlbears at level 20, but I have noticed it with almost everything since than. Last night it happened when we were fighting Skindancers. We have a well oiled group of 4 all level 24 and can kill 28^^ groups (one at a time), but it's VERY bad when this agro thing happens, if the assassin or inquisiter get hate for no reason at the beginning of the fight we have to run away because I know I will never get agro back.</DIV>

<DIV>Now that I know they do it I dont have much of a problem, I pull with my bow then drop Shouting Cry, Anger, Taunting Blow on the lead mob and fire up a couple of buffs. The DPS parts of my group just assist on my target without using AEs and the Inquisitor sticks to the lower agro heals (reactives, etc) so I can keep my taunts ready for the split.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If the mobs dont split after one dies I will pick another, drop in Anger+Taunting Blow and we kill it. If they do break then I will work my way around them regaining agro, Anger+Taunting Blow followed by Slam, Shouting Cry and a group buff will normally get agro from the first one and I can grab the others with Anger+Taunting Blow after that.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I normally get the agro off of mages first, then scouts as they take the least hits to go down. The Inquisitor is normally fine as he is kitted out in plate and has a decent health pool, so after grabbing the mobs off the others I will work on dropping the one on the Inquisitor (if there is one on him).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I normally group with an Inquisitor, Brigand and Wizard then pick up a couple of others to fill the group. I prefer to get a backup tank or healer and an Assassin as I find that makes the group nicely balanced, I hardly ever take Berserkers though as they are generally to stupid to play as part of a team.</DIV>
