20th Level Benchmarks

<DIV>I am posting to attract the attention of those of you who have made it past level 20 and have directly expirienced the impact of your gear in realtion to your tanking ability.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I am curently at 18th level warrior soon to be 19. I have completed the Guardian quest and now find myself in the postion of crafting/wholesale questing for money to improve my items. I am wondering what items you would reccomend to buy/craft to prepare yourself for level 20.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My gear is mostly Yellow con Iron Brigadine and I leaned more towards AC then stats. </DIV> <DIV>I have three other friends that I play with and subsequently have accsess to jewlery and App III crated items.</DIV> <DIV>I am willing to take the time of postioning myself (equipment wise) to proceed through the 20 to 20ish?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Any advice would be much appreciated</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>**My profile is linked below, no I dont usually duel wield just was geared that way to improve my crush/pierce while killing blue Caltorites in Antonica. <DIV>Well the easy answer is go see Ian at Qeynos Harbor and get the armour quests he offers when you ding lvl 20. Apart from some phat drops here and there, its the best armour and easiest to get hold of ... and doesnt cost a thing <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

And still do... its a wicked shield. if you were from queynos and got that 2h axe thing go buy yourself / craft yourself an Ashenwood Kite Shield. If I recall thats closest replacement that ive seen.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Weapon, sadly I used chickenbane for a while. First order of business is to hit fallen gate and do the quest for skullcrusher or buy an unattuned one from someone. The quest for it was easy imo though, everyone of my friends got skullcrusher and Im the only one who actually used it, everyone else banked it or sold it. Its not an uncommon drop if you kill alot of stuff. Just look for the broken military pick to start its quest or whatever it is. Something like that.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Buy Steel Vanguard from players or merchants. I am a cheap **mods 4 teh win!!1!** so I bought it from the NPCs since players gouge you. It cost about 30 silver per peice (40-50ish sp for chest) and I bought everything but the hat and gloves. I wore the Fallen Gate Key quest helm (Heavy Circlet of the Betrayer, which aint great but its plate). I didnt buy the gloves either because thats the first peice you get. Bracers is second... beyond that you DEFINITELY want to buy arms / tunic / legs / boots plate/vanguard.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Buy the... Agate? I believe it was... jewlery. Again, players gouge you I just snagged every peice of NPC agate that was better than what I was wearing (which eventually meant everything hehe)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>AC Flies over 1000 pretty much the instant you don plate/vanguard and keeps going up. At 25 unbuffed I tend to sit around 1350 ac. With group buffs in my usual group around 1500 ac. And when the shiz hits the fan and we throw out all the buffs we can I go past that... and when hero's armor goes off I blow past 2000. =) </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I finished AQ5 last night so ive since replaced all but the tunic I purchased (and helm since theres no AQ for helm... eventually I bought NPC helm to replace circlet of betrayer). Will either be doing AQ6 tonight or helping a friend who fell behind a bit with AQ4. =)</DIV>

<DIV>The biggest bang for your buck (increase in AC) will be upgrading to steel plate/vanguard these items in the following order of importance:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <OL> <LI>Chest (Vanguard/Steel Plate)</LI> <LI>Greaves</LI> <LI>Shield (You can get a nice 150'ish AC shield, such as the Ashwood Kite Shield)</LI> <LI>Boots</LI></OL>
