<DIV>I understand that for optimal tanking one should use a 1 hander and shield but, I'm in love with the dual wielding and big 2 handed weapon look. How much of a loss is it if I don't use a shield? Does it balance out with the extra damage?</DIV>

<DIV>balance it out?how can that balance the extra dmg u will take?the longer u stay up the more DMG the dmg dealers in ur group can dish out,if u wanted 2 do dmg inste dof taking it u should have gonne with another class imo.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

You need a shield as a guardian. Mine gives 200 armor right now and that is irreplacable.

<DIV>I know what you're asking, and I think the answer will almost always be no.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The only time your extra damage will be more than the mobs damage will be vs low con mobs.  The extra damage you will do with dual wielding will be more than 1h/shield, but it wont kill the mob with enough time difference to make a difference on the amount of damage you take.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Does that answer make sense?  I've thought about this a lot because I also really like to dual wield.  This is why I might change my mind from guardian to zerker.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Ran</DIV>

Aegis of the Guardian and its the quest reward for Guardians on the evil side. 172 Armor at level 23, 185 at 25.Shielf Factor = AC. Or atleast when I put the shield on it adds 172 to my Armor Class which is also known as Defense. *shrug*
