<DIV>Am I the only one who is angry with guardian?</DIV> <DIV>I took this class thinking that i would have the highest HP and AC all the best taunts and get to be the biggest baddest meat sheild ever, but instead all i do is cast allay on a zerker or SK and hit Battle Tactics/Guardian's Call every 3 minutes. I guess had I read up on the class i might have forseen this fate but it seemed self explanitory at the time, Zerkers are DPS and Guardians take the hits. I mean Zerkers get a fire hand with a trail, SK gets a fricken HORSE!!!!! Monks get Katas, Chanters get to make people do emotes and the others get to turn into bears or wolves or other cool stuff. I will agree its not a horse, but then again the horse is a wasted ability later in life when people are spending status on real horses with real movements (including Rhinos). You also get other freebe abilities as you level up. The level 40 one makes it sound like you turn into an Earth Elemental.. which sounds pretty fricken cool. Have you seen the conjurers Fire yoga change? The guide does not state it aids in AC, and I have yet to test this one. Let us assume that a higher Agility will only add to your ability to dodge/parry etc.. That said you will never be as good as the other plate wearers.. since you are about the only one using a shield you will however have a much greater parry % and might even have an innate bonus... the best shields in game will most likely be aimed at Guardians (unlike Erudite Pallys <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> ).</P> <P>Stamina is the determining factor in the HP gap. You are the only Plate class that gets +3 Stamina per level after 20. Zerkers get +2 and SK/Pallys get nothing. I just can't match it using all the tricks of the trade. Im hoping that this is something that will change later or no one will want a Zerker in their XP group. I am in full Armor Quest parts.. player made Jewelry and plate helm and carry the Freeport shield and Skullcrusher when Main Tanking. I have just over 2100 HPs buffed and about 1700 AC. I am a tank... and so far the only time I have issues fullfilling that role is when there is a Zerker in the group... who seems to get mauled.</P> <P>I think you need to give the class time.. I love my guardian. At level 50 I will have ridiculous mitigation and the most HPs around... I shall walk among the mortals.. I shall run through zones with defensives active and not care of 20-30 mob pickups that will be hitting me... I will be made of stone... and players will /petition to nerf me because I am too broken <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Anyway.. ignore the Hand of the Just... No tank will ever truely be a DPS machine. If Zerkers are not desired later to tank and they can't match Scouts single targets or Wiz AEs then they will be a second class citizen. A guardian serves one role, they are a sponge and from what im seeing no one does it better in more situations than a Guardian.</P>
<DIV>Ian you need to get youre skills upgraded and do soemthign else cause i dont see what youre complainign about either. i mean everyone keeps complainign about gaurdians suck this..i dont tank this etc. i mean i really dont see hwo you guys are sucking so much..everytime i group with someone i tank no matter what..i do understand zerks need to be toned down jsut a tiny bit as far as agro goes but i can hold agro jsut fine almsot 95% of the time against any other class..even with the zerker i am usually able to hold agro throughtout most of the fight. and you know what..if he starts tanking i dont protect him or whatever..i just let him die or get hurt lol</DIV>

<DIV><FONT color=#ffffff>As far as i might remember, EQ2 is aiming to lvl 250 or something at the very end with the expansions. just imagine if you can se a little difference in tanking ability Vs raid monsters at 30... what might it become at 150 or more ? Guardian is one of the rare PUR subclass, zerker is nothing more than a predator in plate, paladin is a shaman / cleric / tank... etc... well, you got the picture, Guardian is a... well a higher lvl warrior. nothing added, nothing less, just further specialised in its devoted role. So, everyone think Guardians suck ? GREAT, healers will soon do the difference, they are the one clicking to maintain you alive. Being the "happy few" class always made me happy.</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>(now, about rhinos, will there be for Evil only ? some races only ? does someone have a pic ? :p )<FONT color=#ffffff></DIV></FONT>

^ yep.1. Pull with Anger, Shouting Cry, Hold the Line, Taunting Blow2. Group Buffs3. (no chanter use AoE attk), Taunt Taunt Taunt4. Throw in some Mangle, Wound, Slam, Kneebreak, Bash for extra dmg + hate for HTL.5. Taunt more.I went for hours with no break in aggro using this strategy even with higher level dmg dealers.

<DIV>And though it's a lower level ability, Hold the Line is a priceless tool when pulling more than two mobs with no chanter. Cast it during a fight, and though it roots you to the spot, every successfull attack landed by you generates agro on the entire encounter. There should be no reason a Gaurdian should ever lose agro to any class, if you do your not playing your class to it's fullest.</DIV>

<DIV>At the early lvls of guardian you have to remember you 20 lvls of figher + x lvls of gaurdian, plus 10 lvls of warrior + x lvls of guardian and x lvls of guardian. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>When it comes to working in a group, anyone is capable of acquiring agro, but there should only be one person that wants agro and all the group members should work toward that. Agro mangement is a group job and not a guardian or other tank job. If you are not the person to get agro in your group and you have it, you have messed up. </DIV>
