<DIV>Can someone tell me exactly what this does?  It says decreases damage and increased hate generation. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>When I first saw it I thought it was a buff and that at the cost of less offense for myself I would generate more agro.  Now I see that it is an attack, much like Taunting Blow.  So I am wondering if its basically just taunting blow with a damage debuff?  The wording makes it seem like the effects are permanent and that the damage element is towards the guardian not the mob...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Would love to hear from anyone with a few levels of experience with this art.  </DIV>

<DIV>I'm still trying to figure it out too, my guess is that if it hits the monster, it causes you to hit him for less damage but generate more hate for a given period of time, even though we don't see the effect anywhere. Kind of like how we can't see the status effect our mangle or ruin leaves behind.</DIV>

<DIV>No one knows how this art works?  I am really beginning to think it should be a buff and not an attack.  Perhaps we should bug it.</DIV>

I got it today, it agros just like taunting blow on the initial attack. It however does not seem to proc agro when you normally hit the mob (no enraged red or fire animations)Taunting blow does not recharge when you use it (like some other upgrades)For the time being im using it as i would with taunting blow but i still have taunting blow on my hotkeys incase i need it as it aint an upgrade for it.

<DIV>Pretty sure this skill is broken much like shouting cry.  They both are described as they should have a debuff attached to them but the debuff either doesn't leave an icon or isn't actually happening.  My guess is they are broken as the ability to taunt as a guardian should be our primary skill and currently a berzerker can outtaunt a guardian very easily.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Buuk</DIV> <DIV>lvl 27 guardian</DIV>

<DIV>mangle has a debuff that doesn't show up as maintained and yet people claim to have verified it works.</DIV>

More a cosmetic issue then anything.

<DIV>The reason i don't think its cosmetic is the following: </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>When you use hold the line you get a buff icon and you see the flame taunting graphic on the mob everytime you hit the mob.  With taunting challenge you do not see the graphic, therefore i do not thing you are taunting after the original hit.  Secondly, when you acitvate it you hit the mob a la our other line of low damage high taunt hits.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Regarding Shouting cry - The main reason i do not think this is working is that the berzerker group taunt of basically the same lvl out taunts shouting cry very very easily.  (i.e. the berserker could have done nothing the entire fight and his group taunt with knockdown will always out taunt the guardian, the true is not the same for shouting cry.)  A group taunt with an attack buff should create tons of agro, it doesn't.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now all that being said I can still hold agro as long as other classes don't go crazy, so don't turn this into a thread about how to taunt and hold agro.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Buuk</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

Berserkers main thing is taunting and agro through fast attacking and damage, they should be able to out taunt us.Guardians have protection and defense buffs. We should be using our buffs and defense spells along with taunts to maintain agro. Read the class descriptions more carefully and you'll see this. Berskers are going to be the kings of agro. Now what they do with it, and how fast they fold is a different story.

Not true. Berserker do a lot of damage but assassins /rangers do FAR more melee dmg and I have very little aggro problem with them. Bloodlust is the ONLY skill the berserkers have that make them out aggro me. And it does so to a rediculous degree if I don't try very hard to keep on top. Either the skill is broken or berserkers need to realize they can't always use it or need to wait awhile before going crazy town.Infact this works well as I grouped with zerkers the last 2 days and I don't lose agro with them now. 1. they should not be using Rallying Cry as it is a huge taunt.2. they should not bloodlust until I have landed several taunts.<p>Message Edited by GenesisForgoten on <span class=date_text>11-29-2004</span> <span class=time_text>04:02 PM</span>

<DIV>There are currently many DoT type effects that do not have icons.. a Warden buddy of mine confirmed that although one of his DoTs does not have an icon it continues to do dmg.  Im not really sure, I do agree that I am having a harder and harder time as I approach 30 keeping agro.  This is with all App 3s or Adept 1s.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Seems Zerkers take agro from me immediately unless I tell them not to throw Rage.. and now the Assassins in my guild can eventually take agro as the Dual Wield weapons and Assassin Adept drops in TS are crazy.  One of the groups in my guild is 36-37ish so they tend to hand down some ridiculous weapons.. I fear the early 30s when they can use them.</DIV>

<DIV>They might have fixed this skill, at least partly.  I didnt use to get the tuant "fire head" on mobs when using this before, but I did last night.  Also, it doesnt take the place of taunting blow, so I suggest having both up.  This gives us (at 24) 4 quick taunts to mash should we lose agro (rare, but it can happen).  Now with rescue at 25, there's really no reason not to have main agro at all times.  </DIV>
