A Guardians main goal in life, is to protect other from taking damage. To do so, he need to survive as long as possible.A Guardian is not supposed to dash out damage. For a Guardian, the main attributes are STAMINA and AGILITY, and of course AC and HEALTHSTA = Increases HealthAGI = Avoid incoming attack, higher ACSTR = How much damage you inflict when striking an oponentThis is how I think a Guardian should focus when looking for upgrades:- Forget STR.- Primary Focus on items giving AC and raw HEALTH- Secondary focus on RESISTS, and STAM- 3rd focus on AGINow .. Does anyone strongly disagree? Why?Does anyone know if Taunt is based upon any stat? Is it purely based on app/adept/master/ and/or level of the skill?I am thinking purely raid here. Put away all offensive abilites, pull out all taunts, and everything you can use to protect/intervine/shieldThis is my perception of a Guardian. Would love comments from experienced Guardians (I have not yet reached the status of Guardian, merely lvl 14)Thanks<p>Message Edited by Arazeth on <span class=date_text>11-21-2004</span> <span class=time_text>07:37 AM</span>

<DIV>At 27, I find my foci work in a slightly different order.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1. AC and Agility (Two most important factors, extra avoidance, ac, mitigation)</DIV> <DIV>2. Resists (Same reason, less damage taken)</DIV> <DIV>3. Stamina + Raw Health (Most items have similar raw health bonuses, not worth sacrificing other stats to get 3 or 4 more points)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Right now, I find that agility is very necessary to help us avoid more attacks and specials, especially with buffed agility up to 150-160 it helps us greatly versus +2 creatures.</DIV>
<DIV>I just reach 20 and became a guardian and i agree that agg is very important fn not the most of all stats.</DIV> <DIV>Also with specials hitting right at you its one more plus to agg.</DIV>

<DIV>but guardians dont taunt, they assist. thats what the class is geared to do, your ideas of what a guardian does is how it should have been. Guardian MT zerker MA instead its zerker MT/MA and guardian cast allay/stand firm/ other guardian deflect/parry/absorb attack skill on zerker. </DIV> <DIV>oh and dont forget you awsomely powerfull and fun to use smoking hand parlor trick :robotsad:</DIV>

<DIV>Maybe it's because I'm ratonga, or maybe because the second I hit 20 I had a full set of vanguard, but I can out tank any zerker i've grouped with. I would search around for some of the Cold gauntlets with bonus AGI and some other nice AGI rings/necklaces/belts/bracelets and then use mangle adept 1+. Mangle + nice agility = monk style evasion. Taunting is ridiculously easy with Hold the Line adept 1 and Shout Adept 3. I've had no problems keeping my party alive and yes, I have absolutely NO offensive capability because I have Soldier Stance Adept 1 up all the time. I think if they make it so AC affects mob specials it would quell all the whining though.</DIV>
