<DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm a Guardian-to-be... currently Level 16 Warrior.  I was fighting in Blackburrow last night when a higher level (1<img src="/smilies/b2eb59423fbf5fa39342041237025880.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> warrior joined the group and became the MT.  Hunker Down stopped being my friend at this point, but we became more efficient so I was happy with the sweet XPs rolling in.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>But then I did something that made me think about the future. I cast Intervene on the MT and started taking some of his damage.  Being a Tank myself - this wasn't really a problem and didnt' create a problem for the healers either.  But what did happen, was I effectively increased the HPs of the MT with my HPs.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now I know I get Sentinal at 20.. and a quick search tells me I get Sentry at 49.  Makes me wonder if this is going to be a valid technique for higher end groups.  Can a high-evasive monk be the MT with me as his sentinal.  Two people as one MT?  Thats a lot more HPs for the MT I think.  Anyway.. just a thought.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>-Anaximandar</DIV>

<DIV>In the mid 20's we get an ability that allows us to 'buff' another player and provide them with extra defensive skills like parry and Crusaders can share their AC with another tank. In big bad fights I would put intervene on the main healer and also buff them with the defensive buffs.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I duo a lot with my wife an Assassin. I buff her with intervene and the defensive skill buff and let her hold agro till she gets hurt a bit then I taunt it off. We can take green ^^ with no sweat that way. She can also buff her parry skill so she can get massive avoidance from those buffs.</DIV>

<DIV>maybe its cause of wards but so far my sentinel doesnt allways absorb all the blows id like to..but additionally i thin it would be better to save sentinel and other such spells for the healer because if you have 2 tansk it would be better to have 1 at full hp just incase the other dies instead of being at half because of intervened dmg.</DIV>

<DIV>But would the MT have died if your sentinel was on him?  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Granted, I first thought that guarding the healer was the main reason sentinel was useful.  But what if you are up against the big bad dragon, you'd want the MT to have as many HPs as possible - and if you can add HPs to the MT, that would be a good thing.  Anyways - just a thought.</DIV>

<DIV>This sounds like a good idea to me.  I used this technique in DAOC with 2 friends all the time.  The only problem I can think of is that if you use it on a brawler, when he DOES get hit, he takes a lot more dmg than a guardian will.  So let's say if you are tanking, you might take 120 dmg a hit.  If a brawler gets hit he might take 300 dmg per hit.  If you use this ability on a brawler and you take his damage, you will likely take 300 dmg, not 120.   Make sense?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>In the case of using this ability on another plate wearing class, it sounds like it would work great because he'd be taking the same amount of damage as you anyway, so in this case you'd be doubling the amount of HP's.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>All these numbers were purely made up for the sake of explaining myself.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Ran</DIV>
