<DIV>Hello there this i smy first post on the Guardian forum. I was wondering what abilities i should be buying scrolls for to increase their effectiveness. I figure i dont really need to level up damage abilities that much considering that Guardians are a tank character, however i have been buying better scrolls for my defensive and agro abilities. Does anyone have a or can make some kind of comprehensive list of abilities that Guardians should bother spending the money to make better. I think that would be useful to everyone on the boards and not just myself. Thanks.</DIV>
<DIV>Well my list contained a mix of abilities, both aggro and damage. You should contribute some to the dps of the group.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Taunt</DIV> <DIV>Shout</DIV> <DIV>Hold the Line</DIV> <DIV>Wound (DoT generates decent agro as well)</DIV> <DIV>Mangle</DIV> <DIV>Intervene</DIV> <DIV>Rallying Cry</DIV> <DIV>Call to Arms</DIV> <DIV>Kick</DIV> <DIV>Battle Tactics (19th level group hp buff, I'll raise this as soon as I can find a app3 or adept 1 for it)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thats the short list of things I find myself using all the time. You will probably find yourself buying app3's based on whether or not the skill is 1-10 or above that as the price difference can be rather steep between the tier 1 spell scrolls and the tier 2 spell scrolls. So you will probably find yourself buying taunt, mangle, kick, and wound before some of the others.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Kudara</DIV> <DIV>19th Warrior</DIV>

<DIV>Here is how I would assign skill priority to spell upgrades for a guardian.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I like to think of abilities in three groups. I think the following roles of a guardian are from greatest to least:</DIV> <DIV>1. Aggro Contro </DIV> <DIV>2. Defense (skills to bolster yourself or others)</DIV> <DIV>3. Damage </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I always keep taunts upgraded. From there I like to improve the defense skills that I use often (Battle Tactics, Rallying Cry, Sentinal). From there I pick the most important damage ability lines (wound, mangle, kick)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Good luck.</DIV>
Taunt and Wild swing both get replaced before 20th, as well as kick at 20th. While nice skills, you really don't NEED to upgrade those if your short on cash. Also, I've found that the targeted group buffs are somewhat awkward to use, so I'm avoiding upgrading those untill I can figure them out.
<DIV>I upgraded taunt to app3 for 5sp and that was it. I have been trading 1:1 for my adept1s.</DIV>
I would suggest you get your mining up and hit the ores to find some loam rares and get atleast your taunts upto Adept 3 by seeing a friendly alchemist, as thats the main thing a tank needs good taunts. Cant hold aggro then the healer and dps will keep dying and means you are struggling to do the job you are designed for.

<P>honestly i wouldn't bother upgradeing anthing till you start nearing 20... app4s will be fine, maybe whatever ad1 you can find cheap lvl 1-9 you can make your own and its fast lvling... if you wanna make a scholar/alki you can make your own CAs (i'd recomend this TS prof to anyone, its fast lvling and you need a high lvl crafter for a couple heritage quests in t7)... </P> <P>after that upgrade your taunts/stances first, then your buffs, then you CAs with debuffs attached to them, then the other CAs...</P>
