<DIV>Well its here! (Partially I suppose). The Eq2Resources.com Item database!! Currently it only has a simple search, but I want to make sure that the system works correctly. It works both in Mozilla Firefox 2.0 (tested) and Internet Explorer 6 (tested). Other browsers will probably work with it as well. All items are entered by hand by Jerlayne, I do the backend. Currently we have about 260 weapons, and 125armor. Trying to gather more as fast as possible. I have designed the search for speed, trying to surpass the previous sites with slow searches.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also, on our forums, there are a few new sub-forums related to submitting, ideas, and corrections towards the items in the idb.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Currently the search resides in a test folder (obvious reasons).. <A href="http://eq2resources.com/test/test.php" target=_blank>http://eq2resources.com/test/test.php</A></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Alright! Please provide feedback! (Rather have it on our forums) but here will work too!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Regards,</DIV> <DIV>Jonathan AKA Zitic/Chum - Mistmoore</DIV>

One feature that would separate this from others and would bring it more use would be actual pictures of armor or weapons... well mainly armor... since most of us want matching armor and the little icon that you can see at broker sure doesn't indicate how the armor looks like <span>:smileywink:</span> <div></div>

<DIV>Thats true! I agree that is something I would like to have on the IDB... However, I need many screenshots! <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The way I would like it to work is like this... Person goes to search, looks up some armor, clicks on the link to view the item... When it pulls up, it will display the item like normal (just an HTML render of the stats and such to take up less bandwidth, and decrease loading time), however there is 2 tabs at the top (if applicable), one to view the actual item screenshot when equipped (or placed, like furniture).. and another one of the actual item screenshot if you examine it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>...However, as said before, I am only one person (hehe and Jerlayne is only another!), so far we have been doing this all alone and having very little outside help with the screenshots being submitted to us.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If you, or anyone else would help, it would be greatly appreciated!! As you can see, we do give credit where credit is due!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also, how was the speed? It was hopefully faster then all other searches...</DIV>

Aye it was fast... though I didn't use any name filters... just chose armor and search... I could imagine that once you get more items there it would get slower and thus require more filters. Assuming that most don't remember the names or dont even know the names of the items. Regarding the pics I'm sure people would be willing to send them if such a db would be set-up since this is what most of us would like <span>:smileytongue:</span> I think. I browse so often through class forums to find pics but on armorer section they haven't made it sticky unfortunately and I haven't been able to find such thread that would have pics of each tier, common/rare. On tailor forum in the other hand there is a really nice thread of pics for each tier, normal and rare armor. Thanks to the busy person who made it <span>:smileyhappy: One thing you could try is to contact this person and check if you could use those pics? </span> <div></div>

<DIV>Good idea!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I think I will work on something along those lines (take the screenshots myself), and enter the information into the IDB. Its a good idea... one question: The way that person has them set is having all the armor of that set equipped and then taking a screenshot, is that the way it should be, or do you think it would be better with 1 piece equipped and the rest of the slots emptied, and THEN take a screenshot?</DIV>

<DIV>Good looking database so far. One recommendation would be to include known drop info, if plausible. Also, browsing through items, it seems like the stats on some may not have been adjusted with the latest updates that lowered the overall effectiveness of some items.</DIV>

<DIV>Yeah.. the drop information is plausible, i'll make sure to try and document where an Item is received from...etc.. (quest reward, etc..)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also, if you notice an item is incorrect in stats, please send in the correction, that way I can edit the item in our database!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>also... Orkoarmitage - was it speedy for you? I want to make sure this is working as fast as possible.. The only speed decrease is the rendering of the HTML for the item.</DIV>

Regarding the screenshot... I think it's fine if one person having whole set is in the picture as long as then all the armor parts then have the same picture. Heh I didn't dare to make too many suggestions but if you plan to put some filters into the search area I'd say item lvl (or tier) would be one of the first as well as is it plate/chain/leather/cloth. With those two filters we could go far already into finding items we'd like. I believe EQ2iDB has the 'retrieved from' info for some of the items... so if you wish to have users on this site instead it would be a nice info to have. <div></div>

See we also want to ensure that it stays fast for dial up users/ as this is what we, sadly are, while trying to get all this stuff done. Hi, I would be the data entry person. All items are from LU 27 on, so they are that current, at least. If you find one that is not up to date, please let us know, and we will go back in and fix it. Thanks!Jerlayne<div></div>

Yup, having level search, and class search as well as search by type (crush weapons for example) will all be a part of the advanced search. We just wanted to get this out there and make sure that well, basically that it didn't bork itself. ^^ As long as that goes all well and good, then we will progress, otherwise, we will fix the issues, and then progress. Keep the suggestions comming, we're always open for suggestions! <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></div>
