Are we going to see, bells or boats or something else? Scott(A): Well when I said that, I kind of alluded to that a little bit earlier but if you really must know….When I said I wanted to be the first person to on the dock in Butcherblock, I could just have easily have said I want to be the first person to step off the boat onto the dock in Butcherblock. Boats are back, bells are bad. Umm that is pretty much the way it is. The boat rides will be active from a couple of different existing docks in the world. There are a lot of people that like the idea of boats coming back and there are a lot of people that who have early EQ memories who are kind of a little scared by that idea and rightfully so. The one thing I will ask is that people give us the benefit of the doubt here. We don’t think waiting on the dock for 20 minutes for a boat is compelling game play..... Svoald(Q): Now moving on to our next question. We heard that there is this belief and Deities system currently in Echoes of Faydwer. How does this system work and what type of benefits can you actually gain from this? Scott(A): Yes. Religion is back. Bring me back that old time Religion! Yes the gods are back and they are not necessarily all that happy in some cases and happier in others. The whole idea of bringing back religion is again to give the people that additional depth of character development and character attachment that, for example my character in Everquest, I was very unashamedly a diehard follower of Solusek Ro. Not a huge role-player, I just like the fact that it said Solusek Ro when I looked at my character and I went he burns stuff. That’s cool. It didn’t have to add a whole lot, to me it was, when I was level 30 and I went to the Temple of Solusek Ro, and did all of those quests for all that stuff and it said Solusek Ro, I said that’s cool. What we’ve done this time, we’ve turned it into a bit more of a game play system and into a little bit less of a just this other aspect of your character. So it is definitely much more interactive involving content and systems...
These are only a sample of the answers and total Q/A that we had with Scott Hartsman. Head on over to our transcripts page to view the rest!
