THE GODS ARE RETURNING!!!! At E3 this Thursday, we chatted again with Ryan Shwayder, community relations manager for SOE, about the next Everquest II expansion, Echoes of Faydwer. In this video exclusive, we get a detailed description of what this new adventure has in store. “As well as a new belief system that gives players access to new items, quests and even new abilities based on the deity they choose to follow. Which does indeed mean that the Gods will return to Norrath.” - Blackguard Everquest II: Echoes of Faydwer has been much touted for its introduction of a new race, and has been designed to accommodate players from Level 1 all the way up to Level 70. Players will begin in an entirely new city and includes hundreds of new quests, 40 new creature types, armor bonuses for collecting full sets, and a new secondary trade skill, tinkering. Click here to watch the full video interview with Ryan "Blackguard" Shwayder.

Innoruuk!I hear your voice! For all my life have I heard the whispers in my head, but finally I hear your voice!I will do your bidding, spread the hatred and clear the world of the followers of the false gods!I will gather the family around me, we will heed your call, obay your will, smite your enemies!Thy will be done!((Just couldent help it. I'm really looking forward to this... I play a Tier'Dal Inquisitor on an RP server (Lucan D'lere to be precise) and his backgroundstory is that he hears voices in his head, and do what they ask of him (Yes... He's completely insane, in a very evil way,) and this will help my characters storry greatly!I hope they will dig down a bit, into the practices of the faith (rituals, rules and similar stuff...) so that I can live my madness in a more correct (historically and lore-wise) way!_Really_ looking forward to this!))Arraknaian Ul'Drakkar29 Inquisitor (Lucan D'Lere

She left after she created Norrath and placed her Brood. It's not known if she ever has returned.
In aeons past came one of these gods upon the world Norrath. Veeshan, Crystalline Dragon and ruler of the Plane of Sky, found this world pleasing and deposited her brood onto the frozen continent of Velious. With one swipe of her mighty claws, Veeshan opened several great wounds upon the surface of Norrath, staking her claim to this promising new world. Dragons then walked the land and flew the skies, powerful beings of great intellect, wisdom, and strength. Thus began the Age of Scale. In time the other gods noticed Veeshan's work, and being often petty and jealous beings, they too came upon Norrath, intent upon leaving their mark.

Okay...at the risk of being flamed....anyone else invision the return of the Gods with the mindset of "The Incredibles"...Scene fades....Karana enters the room looking like Phylis Diller striking up a conversation with Antonius Bayle who looks soemwhat like Al Bundy....the door opens and in comes Bristlebane looking a bit like Keith Richards.....Alright.....lets get this party started.....(stumbles into the table)....Enter in the "Zek Brothers" fresh from a WWF Tour and Tunare returns to the scene fresh from the Lillith Festival....Ahhh...life is good again<smiles>

The camera being in my face added a bit of additional pressure, so I stumbled a couple times, but hopefully I spoke clearly enough to convey all of the awesomeness that is in Echoes of Faydwer.

The gods WILL return, someday. Sony has a golden opportunity here to allow players to feel a sense of immersion that no other game before has reached. Imagine if players in game actions determined the strengths of thier deities, with characters and guilds all fighting to push their particular gods teachings and smiting their holy leaders foes? Factions based on spheres of influence, the power of gods waxing and waning depending on what their followers are up to, etc etc.

great job with the interview blackguard, i watched it just as soon as it was posted on the web and it actually sent shivers up my spine once you said that the gods were returning....i been waiting for an expansion with this continent and the gods since eq2 first came out...many fond memories of this place, i cant wait to see what 500 years for turmoil has done to this once lush and happy place...er well....somewhat happy anyway.
