Fan Faire and GenCon conflict

I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but:I'm just wondering why they decided to have the fan faire the exact same days as GenCon?The gamer community is limited enough, why schedule an even the same weekend as GenCon?As cool as a fan faire in vegas would be, i'd much rather go to gen con

They were initialy going to have it in another city than something came up. Was stated exactly why in the podcast and i think on the forums here somewhere. But there date options were very limited with the last minute city change.
