View Full Version : Sat Nite -- Off-site event?

Any ideas on whether they will be providing transport to the off-site event?

Or what the off-site event might be? Or what it might be? I attended

last year but stayed off-site and I got very sick of cabbing it back and forth to the hotel.

Last time it was at the Hilton, the offsite event was to a bar just down the road (about a block or two, really across the road from the Conference rooms IIRC). So assuming they are trying to do similar this year, transportation shouldn't really be an issue.

I'm sure soe will be trying to keep the off-site location party as close as they can get it. Last year at the Rio ,it was a pool party at the Rio...there was a few problems..It was SO hot,and not alot of places to sit.I think soe forgets that alot of they attendees are not 20. Alot of us want to come and hang out and drink SIT and talk.

When the off site party for Vegas in 2005....we had it at a location called The Beach...it wasent but a 10 min walk, which was great...good music, places to sit and free drinks.Dancing and what not,I had a blast.

But here we will be in August again,I hope its inside, with places to sit.

In 2006 in Atlanta,we had to walk over a mile (wasent too bad unless you had to carry a few guildies back) The club was 3 storys with VERY few places to sit,3 floors of very loud music...2 bands playing and a floor of karorki(sp)

I'm thinking you'll need to be 21 to attend this event (the off site party) as I had my ID checked all 3 times I attended

Granted, gamers are generally not the most attractive group of individuals, and many have poor hygene, but a pool party again would be awesome, if it was done well. So long as the area was spacious, seating was provided for those who do not want to be in the water, perhaps even off the side of a bar, everyone was required to shower beforehand (see many gamers having poor hygene), with well conditioned or fresh air, I can't imagine a better off site event.

I believe Off site event means something off the grounds of the Hilton hotel property, so pool party at the Hilton is something else.

The offsite will most likely be in walking distance or on the monorail stop and if it isn't it's likely we will provide busses or something like that.

The hygiene post cracked my ** UP. Hadn't thought about it, but kind of glad in retrospect that I avoided the pool... I hope that sucker had a LOT of chlorine in it...
