Why do some items have actual useful in-games effects and others are just window dressing. i.e. the cloak for EQ2 players. Granted the effects on the others are not game breaking but why just give EQ2 players anf SWG players window dressing?

Bit unfair if 'ye ask me.

Why is it we must pre register for these gifts? I LIVE in Vegas, so pre reg makes NO sense for me, as I can use the money for silly things like bills, and pay at the door.

A lot of events give bonus's for Pre-reg. It allows the organizers to get a feel for how many are coming and make some sort of plan based on those starting numbers.

Cool then you found a good reason for the attendees to sign up early

Is it possible to switch your primary game after you've already registered if you want a different in-game item?

Unless Sony has changed their policy concerning in game items given to Fan Faire attendees. In the past these items are meant to be fun and amusing gifts. My issue is that some of the gifts obviouly have fun in games effects that won't give Fan Faire attandees a siginificant advatange over non-attendees and that other gifts are nothing but pretty pixles. I dont play either of these 2 games but how can you complare:

Vanguard - a Gnomish Dancing Crystal! When used, this crystal will play music and motivate the user and his or her group to dance. Why can't we have a Gnomish Dancing Crystal in EQ2? 2% XP gain for an hour every 2 days is not going to break the game considering we get XP gain potions for our verteran rewards. Does the EQ2 cloak have any benefits other than looking pretty? This seems a pretty silly gift considering most people display their guild heraldy on their cloak. Honestly the in game gift EQ2 players needs to go back to the drawing board. Maybe the one for SWG as well but I do not play that game.
