Spoke with a reservation's agent at Rio Hotel and they said they have rooms available but the room block (room rate) for the SOE is sold out.

Are there any plans to increase the room block?

Yeah just called the Rio . They say they are sold out for most of the dates. They were going to charge me $420 for Aug 2nd LOL.

So they are looking into getting a few more rooms at a discount price but it won't be the same as the other offer... I have heard that the Gold Coast which is right across the parking lot has room available at a reasonable rate. If we get more rooms as a lower rate I will let you all know. Thanks

Thanks Ash. I dont mind if I don't get the original rate but $420 bucks for one night is a bit steep. I would hate to have to check out of the Rio for one night

I'm staying the Gold Coast Hotel and Casino. http://www.goldcoastcasino.com/ Its just around the corner from the Rio. there is a map that shows its location. I'll try to find it and post it up here. Currently its $364 to stay from the 1st and leave on the 5th. http://www.visitingdc.com/las-vegas...s-hotel-map.asp here is the map, you will see the Rio and Gold Coast off to the right middle.

Thanks for the info Zegron. That is a great deal. I was really hoping to stay at the same hotel as the Fan faire as this will probably be my last one , but $420 for one night is a crazy. I just might have to check into the Gold Coast.
