Sounds like the Fan Faire location has been decided. Samanna (who's at a Press fair at SOE this week), said on his boards that the Fan Faire is going to be Aug 1-4 at the Rio Hotel in Vegas. http://crucible.samanna.net/viewtop...;start=80 ( it's in that thread can't figure out how to link direct to a post)

Well count us out. It's too late to change vacation schedule now...Another FF to miss because SOE can't get it's head out of it's butt.

I think 6 months notice is pretty darned good seeing as in the past we usualy only had 2 or 3 months notice.

I havent seen an official announcement as of yet, but i've heard a whole lot of rumors flying around about vegas aug 1-4. after the recent community summit, and I would expect an official announcment sometime soon.

I am not even sure there are intentions of holding FF again. I have private messaged Ashlanne with no response. It's like she doesn't even exist any longer. No one official will respond to any of our posts. It looks like SOE is trying to divest itself from the whole idea of fan gatherings.

You're seriously deluding yourself if you believe that. SoE has a long outstanding history of supporting the social aspect of gaming, they're not about to turn around and throw out years of work on a whim.

I am still around I just don't anything official to announce. In the past everytime I've posted here without official Fan Faire info I get a lot of negative feedback as for PMs I generally don't respond to them.

When we have an official announcement it will be posted. I will say the Summit attendees were given exclusive info on Fan Faire.

May have been a way to get a cheaper price (combine all) and have people from lots of different divisions there at the same time...

(NOTE: No I do nt work for SOE, My Mother In Law works for Harrahs as an assistant for one of the marketing types)

Igie thanks for the insider info. If its was very early June. Or if its very late September I might be able to make it. But nothing in between. We have a family seasonal business down the shore. My Dad normaly runs it and on my 2 days off I drive 2 1/2 hrs. each ways and help out. But my Dad had a stroke on January 28. His got his eyes open but he does not respond at all to any commands and does not talk. So I am going to have to quit my job and move to Jersey and run it. My sister and my Mom went from the Hospital to the shore they called me and wished me a Happy Bithday at work today and were sorry they had to go they told me they left a card on the kitchen table. So its been a crazy begining year for me. Oh and Sassums thanks for saying Happy Birthday its been a lonely evening tonight in this big empty house.

Ashlanne are you saying that some people have been told the dates but it hasn't been announced yet?

She said Summit Attendees were given exclusive information about Fan Faire, and there has been no official announcment. That's pretty much all she said.

As for you not being able to get vacation six months ahead of time? Which Labor Camp are you working in? Maybe I can talk to the Warden for you.

Many people need to ask for their vacation time at the beginning of the year, because they work at a place that needs to ensure a minimum number of people on staff at all times. To ensure getting the dates they want, they have to get in early. Even so, people with higher seniority sometimes get first pick, so even if you get your request in early, you might not get it. It has nothing to do with working in a Labor Camp.

Sooooooo

Don't plan Fan Faire in June, July, August, or September....

.....because one person can't go during 1/3rd of the year.

That's fair, and PERFECTLY reasonable of you to request!

I would love to go to Vegas for Fan Faire august 1-4. Aug 2 is my wedding anniversary and Aug 4 is my birthday.
