I realize that most of you do not need to know so far in advance of when the Fan Faire will be held, however there are those of us who have to start considering our 2007 vacation planning NOW in order to ensure we get the dates we need next year. Those of us who work for large companies have to compete with a lot of other people for a relative few vacation slots...SO Ashlanne if you could possibly chose a location before November 1 it would help a great deal....

The location and dates will be posted as soon as possible which I have said numerous times already. I realize you need to plan your vacation but we don't have any news for you just yet.

I am sorry for the inconvenience this causes.

It would be great if we could know where this is going to be. I would like to go.

Any updates yet? If she doesn't get her vacation time in by the beginning of the year, I don't think we can make it to FF next year.

I know how you feel, I had to turn in my vacation days for next year today. I went ahead and put in for the last week in June since that one was in the lead (even though they say it got manipulated somehow). If its any other date, then maybe next year.

Same thing happened to me last fan faire, even though it was only 3 hours away from me by the time any announcements came it was too late to ask off since some body else already had those days taken, and working nights and weekends, couldn't even make a day trip up.

What could possibly be SUCH big news that it affects the location and dates of where this event will take place? You are forcing people who would normally go to FAN FAIRE to make other plans for their vacations just so you can make some "big" announcement? Not cool SOE>..These are your customers...we make paydays happen...

Being a previous Fan Faire attendie (5 or 6), I know exactly what some of you are experiencing with the delay of the when and where announcement of the next FF. It's nothing new, and I very seriously doubt that the SOE folks are purposely holding that info for smiles and giggles at tormenting the fans. If it were as easy as picking a place and announcing it, we would have known months ago. But, it takes a lot of negotiating between the parties, contracts, legal stuff, etc. There's a lot of planning put into these conventions and I for one, even though I might not get to go because of the delay, would rather that the time be taken and things done to the best of everyones' ability than wind-up in the middle of an ill-planned convention. I've been to some fantastic conventions (5th Anniversary in LV) and a couple of stinkers. I may or may not go. They'll announce it when things are done. Or would you rather hear:" It's in Disneyland 12-17 March..no, wait, Las Vegas May 6-9, no wait...."

If the next event were to be held in Virginia Beach, that would be awesome!

Plenty of hotels, the beach and I live here. The weather is usually nice and walking around is no problem. Security is no problem as the police retain a high profile on the main drag.

This is a tourist/vacation town and there are plans to expand.

What a shame. I've attended so many Fan Faires, and had to put in for my vacation by the 1st week of the New Year, so you've lost me and my family and at least 30 people I know who have had to make their plans for the year already. I realize its not something intentional, but the amount of time to just announce where it will be and when, is, in my opinion, just another example of why SOE is losing members due to their lack of organization and follow through. Hope you all have a good time. I look forward to reading the stories of those who are lucky enough to come and go on vacations as they please. Not all of us are.
