View Full Version : Why not add The Matrix Online to the Fan Faire?

I know that Walrus represented us at the Fan Faire this year and he got some good responses from the other game players, but why not give MxO the full support next year? We are part of the SOE family aren't we? Shouldn't we receive the same support that all the other SOE games get besides us? Just look at the Block Party, I didn't hear about any other games having a radio station there doing live broadcasts. Why not give this game the support that it's fans want and deserve?

While I may agree with you Ghostwise, there is no reasonable explaination that I can see for not adding MxO to the Fan Faire. I think adding us could finally be the first step to make MxO feel part of the the SOE family. Ofcourse this is part of a larger picture. One that goes back to not having a box in the stores, not being on the SOE Press Center Website, not being featured at the SOE Block Party, and many many other things. But hey, you gotta start small right If an SOE community relations member would want to talk to me, like Ashlanne, they could PM me about this. This is an issue that needs to be addressed, and I will not be satisfied until we receive some sort of a response to this issue.
No worries Q. Baring any unfortunate events, we plan to broadcast live from the Fan Faire as well. =)

I am not sure if MxO or SWG will be officially part of the 2007 Fan Faire or not. However we will have members of the Community team there for both games and perhaps members of the Development team for both games.

We want to include both of those games but it may not be possible.

Could you hint as to why not? Is there a problem with the licensing or something?

QforQ-MxO wrote:
Could you hint as to why not? I am not saying they won't allow us to I am just saying that getting approval takes time.

Okay, thanks Ashlanne. I appreciate you answering my questions. I hope you guys can get more permission to do more things for MxO if that is what is holding you guys back. We need to be included in a lot of things that SOE does. For the everyday MxO player it really feels like SOE doesn't really care about MxO : /

We are diligently working with our partners in an attempt to make sure MXO is an integral part of the next Fan Faire. =)

**Confused**

I thought it was just LA and SOE with SWG? Im not up on the companies with The Matrix, but Warner Brothers is somehow related? Anyone able to explain that?

Also can anyone explain the "LEC" title? I figured L would be Lucas, but I am at a loss for the other 2 letters.

Yes Warner Bros. owns the rights to the Matrix and the Matrix Online. =)

LEC is LucasArts Entertainment Company

Ah thank you very much, for the longest time I could not figure it out, and I never knew Warner Brothers owned the rights to the Matrix....this is way more complex then I figured....

So really Sony has to pay those companies to use the title or is there more involved? Kind of like people have to pay the McDonalds cooperation to use that title?

Ah I see, thanks for clearing that all up, I really appreciate it. Ill have to research into it a little more.....im still rather new to the complex world of gaming....although ive been a gamer for some time, hehe.
Hey, as long as I can physically get to Fan Faire this year, I'll be there representing my game.In costume.(Does it count as a costume if I wear black clothes and sunglasses everyday, anyway? ) - Void

No shameless plug for that company that made your trench, Void? It does look cool though
Much as I do enjoy plugging the fine products available from AbbyShot Custom Clothiers, I prefer to do so when people can actually see me in one of their designs, so I'm planning to save all subliminal marketing strategies for the Fan Faire. ... Maybe. - Void
