<DIV>If the weekend was a little longer, or there were more hours in the day, then I can see trying to go someplace scenic, and with actual things to do.  Really though, you could have it in a cave that offered good beds and alcohol, and it would go over well! LOL</DIV>

That's true. I went to FF in New Orleans the month before EQ2 went live. You know how much stuff there is to do in N.O., right? French Quarter, restaurants, the river, aquarium, etc. The only times I left the hotel was either foraging for food or it was a FF event. The liquor flowed of course, and most of my time was spent in the main ballroom where the computers were. IMHO, FF should be in the place where everyone can get there the cheapest, and that's generally Vegas. But since I live in Texas, I would prefer Austin simply because it would be closer and cheaper for me personally. To the point I might actually be able to go. A tank of gas up there, a tank of gas back, stay in the Motel 6 for $35 and drive 15 minutes to the FF hotel. Of course, that would mean no drinking because I would have to drive back... Oh wait! My wife would drive me! WOOO! AUSTIN ALL THE WAY!
