I was reading over the list of activities and wonder besides the live quest and the mob tourney, what do you get? I notice a whole lot of our store will be open buy our stuff times listed in the scheduled list of events. Looking over the list of ppl that will be coming this will be a very very low turnout for EQ2. Will there be computers set up where we can play our own characters?

Hello. For the Classic Pass price of $120.00 you'll get all of the following:

Access to the EQ and EQII Live Quests

A chance to compete in the EverQuest II Mob Madness tournament

The Welcome Reception, where you'll have snacks, meet and greet fellow players, meet some SOE staff members and hear special announcments. We'll follow this up with Karaoke!

The Grand Banquet, which is an all-you-can eat buffet with fellow players, where we'll have a costume contest, give away fabulous prizes and more.

Access to all Development Forums, which will take place Friday and Saturday afternoons

Access to the game room, where you can log in and play your own characters

A special EverQuest II Fan Faire T-Shirt

A customized EverQuest II Fan Faire badge and badge holder

Other events and items may be added shortly

If you choose to upgrade your pass to Gold, you will get admission to the Grand Finale party at The Beach nightclub across the street from the Hilton.

If you choose to upgrade your pass to Platinum, you will get admission to brunch with the Dev Team

We've unfortunately had some issues with web registrations, which are mostly fixed now, but would explain the low turnout for EQ2. Judging from the amount of rooms that have been booked for the Fan Faire at the Las Vegas Hilton, we'll have a good turnout (people just haven't registered for the Fan Faire yet).

We hope to see you in Vegas!

Keep in mind a lot of people who are going have not yet registered (and some may just pay at the door) so what you see on the attendees list are the "early adapters", and not a true indication that not many EQ2 or other Sony game folks are coming

I have attended 5 fan faires, from my experience, a lot of EQ players don't have a lot of money. Spring Fan Faires in the past have always coincided with tax refund time. This year it is later and they might be having a bit of trouble scrounging up the money...(especially since it's $ more expensive this time) I think you will see a marked upswing in the number of attendees after May1. EQ has a number of people attending, but then EQ still has a sizeable number of players compared to EQ2. And a lot of EQ2 players still play EQ that registered on their EQ servers because they have more friends there.

Generally there are always between 2 and 3 thousand people attending these events. And since the spring one is in Las Vegas, there are plenty of things to do away from the Fan Faire, if nothing catches your fancy...I personally do not enjoy live questing...that's my time to grab a seat at a game table and drink down a few pints of Dwarven ale....or somthing resembling it anyway...

Fan Faires are a blast. A good place to put live faces on the toons, make new friends, catch up with old ones, learn the inside "madness" of the devs, mingle with the hard core EQ geeks, grab a T Shirt, and the best thing is you can be a geek (or just act like one) without anyone pointing and laughing (well, too much)

the best thing is you can be a geek (or just act like one) without anyone pointing and laughing (well, too much)

Last year, one of the places you were guarenteed to run into Everquester's was Quarks (Startrek themed bar in the Hilton). We were there eating one day when in walks this whole group of folks wearing full Star Trek uniforms. As I sat there, sipping my beer, I thought to myself: "I may spend most of my evenings running around pretending to be a halfling, but at least I am not wearing THAT out in public."

EQ geeks:1 , Startrek geeks: 0

Concerning what you get for the money, I would say that the best thing for me last year was just the chance to 'embrace my Everquestness'. What I mean by that is, you have to admit that as many folks who you see onlineplaying everyday, in our average everyday lives its not all that common. Trying to explain Everquest to my friends and co-workers usually results in confused stares or outright laughter. You're never going to be standing around the watercooler arguing with someone at work over whether bards are overpowered or not. Fan Faire is a chance to be in an environment where everyone knows what a SoW is. Except those weird planetside folks.. but its not like they count anyway

You're going to meet cool people from your server. You're going to get to show some server pride, some class pride, some subclass pride. And, if you are familiar with EQ1, you're going to get to yell POVAR SUCKS! at every get-together, and dangit.. yer going to mean it!

You're going to meet Devs and Mods and Customer service folks. You might even meet the frendly healer who hooked you up with a rezz after that unfortunate Enraged Bear incident.

You are going to drink beer. Let me repeat that. There is BEER.

There will be games. The live quests are amazingly fun. You'll see Eqers running rampant hailing live NPCs, making up songs. solving puzzles.

And there's just plain weird and fun stuff. For instance last year a lot of the EQ1 rogues from The Safehouse got together and made stickers that said 'soandso backstabs you for 386 pts of damage. They'd walk around and stick one on your back so lightly you wouldn't notice. Finally you'd catch one, reach back, and find you'd been stabbed 12 times for 8000k damage. Doh! Rezz please!

If you love the game, FanFaire is THE place to be this June.

Tayln Fleetpaw

Steamfont

This just sounds like just a blast! I can't wait!! LOL I was hesitant to go 'cos none of my friends will be there, but with all that beer I guess I can make some new friends.

Raeyn Wooddancer

Money couldn't buy the memories I have from last year! Remember the Bard from the Lanys server? He brought tiny paper bags and put gummy worms in them. Dropped them everywhere and we watched and laughed hysterically as people discreetly tried to pick them up. Who else would know those were supposed to be the worms you seen everywhere in the POK! Just fellow EQ players. It was so fun to go anywhere and over hear conversations and know what they were talking about while outsiders looked at them like they were crazy. I learned alot, laughed alot, and met some really great people who share my favorite way to spend my free time. I have moved on to EQ2 also and I know several people who are registered on the EQ side one from my guild for sure. I am really excited and looking forward to this year in my home city of Vegas!!

Joyful

Guild Leader ~ Spirits of Sin

Unrest Sever
