Registration Question

Greets ...Does the character you register with determine anything other than the badge you wear? I'm having a tough time trying to decide between two characters that I play equally as much. One is on Venekor and has a name I think is nifty. The other is on AB and is a Swashie, my fav class. I don't believe anyone from either of our guilds is going, otherwise the decision would be fairly easy.
