Why is there no FF in Virginia? Here is a list of things to do in Hampton Roads... Lets get them to come here!!Nauticus MuseumVirginia Air and Space MuseumBusch Gardens WilliamsburgKingsmill Golf CourseVirginia Beach OceanfrontVirginia Living MuseumOcean Breeze Water ParkWater Country USAColonial WIlliamsburgColonial JamestownYorktown Re-enactmentsAnd I know there is more, but this is all I can think off at 3amBusch Gardens Operates on the weekends during the fall. Also, I list Water Country USA as something to do, but they are ussualy closed during the fall. I do not know the hours for Ocean Breeze.Busch Gardens also has Howl-O-Scream during the fall time, which is where they transform the entire park into a Holloween theme. There are several dinning options in the Hampton Roads Area. There are also several Malls to offer shopping:MacArther (spelling?) MallPatrick Henry MallCollisium MallA good spot to hold it would be in the Hampton Collisium, near the 64-664 interchange, But the best option would be in a hotel near the oceanfront. We also have 2 International Airports to arrive in, Newport News/Williamsburg int'l Airport, and Norfolk Int'l Airport.Several Military bases in the area to offer housing for Military people.Dozens of hotels along the VA Beach oceanfront/Williamsburg area for more lodging...So see, Perfect spot to hold a fall FF!

<DIV>I believe the reasons they chose the venues that players voted for was cost vs reward, available space/time when convenient, and being able to work with the venues for what was required (though I could be wrong!).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It's not that everyone hates Virginia!  Maybe next time around!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>T</DIV>

Virginia does have a ton to do but it does seem to be a little too East for a lot of people.    I mean I could as easily pitch Orlando as you could where you're talking about.  I love going up there (history buff) but I don't know for FF.

<P>Yep, cost is a bit of an issue when it comes to Fan Faire I believe. For example, if you do a quick check on air fare to Virginia versus Atlanta/Las Vegas/Denver/SF, you will see a significant differences in price of air fare. I personally would not attend a fan faire in a city where the cost of the air fare is twice or three times compared to another city. Because most of the sites being chosen are major air hubs, the cost is low and the rooms tend to be low as well. It's a big consideration when choosing the place to hold a fan faire.</P><p>Message Edited by Taushar on <span class=date_text>09-12-2005</span> <span class=time_text>05:06 PM</span>
