I wouldn't expect any final announcement for a few months, but yeah...the sooner the better, I need at least several months advance notice to make sure I can get the time off from work If it's not in Vegas, it's a moot point tho

I could be wrong, but I believe they were considering a run-off vote between the top 2 sites.

That is like.. ok, the place that won.. we don't reall like.. so we will do it again, and again til the place we like wins! The winning city on this vote should be it! Another vote is sily...

Run off vote for top 2 places? You know what that sounds like? Sounds like whoever came up with that bright idea wants to go to vegas this year and noticed they are going to lose. ^^We only have a few to pick from as it is, let the people vote and be done with it, no need to REDO what has already been done! And yes im a Atlanta City voter btw, if it wins and they do a REVOTE thats just plain "cry baby" crap going on. Might aswell not allow us to even have a say.Wheres the vote % page at by the way? Now we cant even see whats going on or is it "broken". MODS if you didnt want it anywhere else besides VEGAS then why in Gods name did you ask for a "VOTE"..~Taipans~
Message Edited by Taipans on 08-19-2005 01:04 PM

They likely wanted to see what percentage wanted the various locations. I've posted this elsewhere here, but nowhere did I see it said that the poll would definitely decide the location

What was the point in the poll then? So it was a fake poll? Just to say, "what do you want?" and when the majority says, "we want atlanta" they say, "Oh sorry, we really don't care, it's going to be somewhere else, we were just messing with you"

I don't think anything was decided either which way. One of the concerns raised in the Vote! thread was that some of the locations (and dates) would effectively split the vote, and a more accurate way to figure out what people wanted would be to do a run-off. This is something they said they would consider doing. Given that one location didn't receive over 50% of the vote, I'm inclined to think that is a decent course of action, but won't complain if they decide to go with what they've already got.

I am pretty sure that the places that had two different dates on them.. even if you totaled up the two as one.. they were still losing.

And you notice that the people who are saying it is just fine to do a run off or not to go by what the vote was, all voted for vegas... sore losers?

Me too! Atlanta won the vote, and it is closest to us! I am talking to a costume designer about creating a costume, but I can't give her an O.K. until a location is announced So I hope they let us know soon. I don't want to start on this costume and then it not be in atlanta and I can't go
