<DIV>I just hope its not the same ol New Orleans / Las Vegas thing.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Especially with the time of the year they chose.. Halloween, and graduations..  I started playing when the Chicago one hit.  Unfortunately, I didnt know about it, or I would probably have gone.  Since then, its been las vegas, new orleans, las vegas...sigh...  vegas is out of reach, and I had graduations to go to anyway.. new orleans wasnt necessarily out of reach (12 hours drive) but on halloween?!   How many more people you think you would have gotten to attend if you thought about the people with children? (and HELL no, Im not taking kids to New Orleans on Halloween... surely you jest)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>When you planning on scheduling the next one?  Christmas?  Thanksgiving?  =/</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> -Gonz</DIV>

<P>To be honest they shouldnt do another till next year. They seem to love Vegas for the west coast FF. They usualy do some place different for the Eastern one it has been new orleans Chicago. Ive been to the Seattle was my first I mist the next one I think it was in Texas then San fransico ,Vegas then Chicago then Vegas the New Orleans and again Vegas. Iam hoping some where I havent been since I use part of the FF time to see some sites and hange out with friends if I can get any of them to come. If I cant get any of my friends to come next time Iam going to just go visit them instead and Ill end up saving a few bucks at the same time.</P> <P> </P> <P>I think Vegas is great but hey lets try something new already.</P>

<DIV>I believe that SOE has posted that it would never be NYC due to cost.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Philly would be cool, imo.</DIV>

<P>I heard they were only having them once a year now, and Vegas was going to always be the place.</P> <P> </P> <P> Perfect! Although I'd prefer 2 a year, Vegas is a great place, very convention friendly and the whole town, gambling aside, family friendly, always so much to do,</P>

<DIV>I thought the rule of thumb was, one in the spring west of the Mississippi, and one on the east of the Mississippi in the fall. I'll cry if there isn't a fall one. Does anyone in the planning dept. of the Fan Faires have any input on this? I know things were beginning to be planned about this time last year for the New Orleans Fan Faire in October of 2004....please tell me there will be another one in the fall, PLEASE!!!!</DIV>

If they did another FF this year it would be realy close to a holiday which they might not get a large number to go for that reason. October again might be to soon but maybe not they might do it the 2nd or 3rd week that month they might get people to go. Prices might be a good idea for them to lower and get some realy great deals on rooms will make it easier for more to come I think.

<P>We really enjoyed the New Orleans FF, and would have gone to Vegas too if the timing was better. We were off by a week when we booked our vacation time. Having to roll the dice on whether or not FF will co-ordinate with vacation time isn't the kind of gambling I like to do. </P> <P>Isn't there any way to plan these events a little further in advance?</P> <P>It seems that since there hasn't been any word about a fall FF that there likely isn't one in the works.  I for one will be disappointed if there isn't one. We had such a good time putting faces to toons in New Orleans, well and watching them blur with every "Hurricane"...</P>

<DIV>New Orleans was SO much fun. I didn't attend the Vegas one because there was always a fall one, and its hard for me to try to swing TWO of these in a year. I come to these boards to check if there is ANY announcement about a fall gathering, and there hasn't been ANY word from anyone stating there will or will NOT be one. Who has the answer for this?? I'd really appreciate it if someone in charge of these could fill us in on whether or not there will be one. So, PLEASE, to the powers that be....let us know!!!!</DIV>

<DIV>Whatever they do, I really hope they do not wait until the last minute to finalize it like they did this spring for Vegas. I need months of advance warning to schedule vaca time from work and make plans</DIV>

It was finalized long before a month in advance.  In fact, the last Fan Faire, had the most early warning of any Fan Faire to date.

<DIV>Wife and I are from St.Louis, so Georgia is our only option really in order to Drive and save money (588 miles 9 hours). Texas pushes it a little 2 far at 877 miles and 13 hours... ugh.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anyhow I wish KC could of been an option, obviously St Louis too but of course its to dangerous here... lol</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I vote georgia! I will make the 9 hour drive to have a fun weekend and make wife happy (she really wants to go). NO LAS VEGAS! Its an awsome spot but once a year is enough! </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Who comes up with the choices anyways? There should of been a larger poll with more choices, then have a last one like this to finalize it.</DIV>

How about Minnesota? Forget LV and NO. Too far and most likely too expensive. Give some of us <DIV>up north a chance. </DIV>

Memphis, TN would get my vote, but N.O. is nice too.

If it's Georgia we can't make it <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> ...vote Vegas!!

<DIV>Vegas, baby!  (since Seattle wasn't an option. and I notice none of the listed airfares come nowhere near the northwest as a departure point) LV was the cheapest airfare with Denver as a near second. Any further east and I can't make it. Not sure why they stopped having 2 a year (one on each coast).</DIV><p>Message Edited by Tamoro on <span class=date_text>08-05-2005</span> <span class=time_text>02:39 PM</span>

Why not hold a fan faire in Canada? We play the game too you know. Possibly Montreal or Toronto? <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

<DIV>I'm certain that there are preferred locations through past experience as far as accommodating a FF. I would think that there should be an attempt to split up the FF locations to try to accommodate the locales of as many players as possible. As a Floridian, I would love to see another FF take place in Orlando, but at least Atlanta would be drivable. Perhaps dividing the States up into quads and finding a city to meet the needs of most players in the area would work out best.</DIV>
