Can people under 21 attend the Dev Brunch without having to pay for the party at the Beach? Some friends are a little annoyed that as the billing stands now, they have to pay for an event they cannot by law attend in order to participate in the Dev brunch. What if anything can they do?

Thank you

Yes, as long as you're over 18.

Perhaps you missed the main part of the question, allow me to restate:

Is there a way to go to the Dev Brunch without having to pay for the party at The Beach nightclub?

There are many people who cannot attend the party at the bar (minors, Muslims, Mormons, people with liver problem, recovering alcoholics, etc). Is it SoE's intention to require people who are not able to consume alchohol due to legal, moral or health reason to pay for the party at the beach they will not be able to attend, simply for the privledge of eating a meal with the game developers?

This may sound like a harshly phrased question, but it is an important consideration. I have a mormon friend who is coming, as well as a 19 year old guildmate, both of whom would like to attend the dev brunch, but neither of which is going to be able to because they are required to first pay for the beach party before they are allowed to pay for the brunch.

Thank you again for your time in considering this important issue.

As an alternative, would Sony staff have any problems if someone purchased the Dev/Beach package, and then "gave away" or "sold" their 'pass' to attend the beach party?

For example, I personally have no interest in the Dev lunch, and will not be purchasing that level of a registration. However, if I had enough friends going to the beach party, I might be interested in purchasing someone's pass to it, if they had no interest in going.

So in summary, would Sony allow for the Beach party pass to be 'transferrable", as long as the person it transferred to was over the minimum age, or are all events (including the dev brunch) non-transferrable, and only the actual registrant is eligible to attend?

Just a thought... i figured at the worst, the answer would be "no". At the best, some people might be very happy with the response.

Thanks!

Buried back in the other posts somewhere some asked if they could purchase a Beach pass at the door and the answer was yes. I would imagine the same option will be availble for the Dev Brunch, but you might not have a choice as to which one you attend.

It does look like there is a small group of people who want to go to the Dev Brunch but can't attend the Beach party for various reasons. For those people, I recommend registering for the Classic Pass ($120) and then upgrading onsite for the Dev Brunch ($25 extra). We will give you a special packet at the time of upgrade that will admit you to the Dev brunch only. These items will not allow you into the Beach Nightclub.

If you've already registered for the Platinum Pass and do not want to attend The Beach grand finale but DO want to attend the Dev Brunch, we will need to cancel your registration and you'll have to re-register for Classic and then upgrade to the Dev Brunch onsite. Please note that if you do this, you will receive a classic badge, which will automatically disqualify you from entrance to The Beach.

Please email me at [email protected] if you wish to take this route.
