step 3 : repair the core using the shattered pieces of the soullight essences.

BUG : the first wave of mobs becomes enocuter locked to the Core as you try to defend it. All other waves of mobs can be killed, unfortunatly the first will eventualy destroy the core. This preventsany progression of this quest line. I play an illy, and the only blue aoe i have is a mezz i did try and spam that as they popped, but even that did not seem to prevent the encounter from becoming locked.

Same step, different bug:

1) tower seems to "reset" (no longer targetable and goes to full health)

2) if two people click it then it doubles up the waves but still has one core

3) when time finally ran out, I ended up not getting credit

Additional feedback: fear is a bit too powerful here, many mobs chain fear so you never get to kill them. In addition, all the mobs are grey, not sure if that is planned, except the non-encounter mobs which also join in the fight.

Tried with inq merc and coercer, just not enough AE to hold them all and too much fear that not being cured fast enough

Still pretty much impossible to defend the core, and when someone else is doing quests you can't really target only your mobs. Quite a mess.

Update - was able to do this by grouping everyone around. However, afterwards, there is a constant damage something going on that can not be removed. Zeeil is also not up since someone is always messing around with mobs perhaps?

None of the NPCs should lock the encounter any longer (updarted for now on Beta, and patched in with the next patch).

Are you certain you were getting a double spawn of NPCs? Once someone has triggered the event, it will refuse to trigger for anyone else. They can click on the object still, but it will give them a message that they must wait to activate the core.

Can not say I am certain about the double up... just notice I could damage other people's targets and notice not every click had same number/types of waves

The wave spawns have some randomness to them. You can also get additional spawns if you're doing too well

Another player suggested /target Zeeil as I couldn't find him, he has sunk into the tower base and is not visible. On Hailing him (H) he appeared in front of me fully visible and I was able to continue. He does need fixing though.

I did as suggested above and Zeeil rose up from below after I hailed him. Also there mobs under the base of the tower so that if you stand on the clear area of the base they begin to attack you though you can't see or target them.

I think you should cut down a bit on the stun made by the swarmers. I finished with the tower at 1% health or so because I couldn't aggro the mob because I was nearly non-stop stunned. It was a bit too much imo.

Same problem with Zeeil as previous posters, /targeted him and hailed without additional problems

I've tried 6 times now to get my beastlord through defending the core, and failed every time due to pretty much chain stifling and a few random fears. If this part of the sig quest is meant to be soloable, I have to agree that the stifles need to be toned down. Not all classes are AE-heavy enough to get that many mobs off the core in time. A healer merc helped with the stifles, but not having a boatload of AEs in my repertoire, aggroing everything to keep it off the core was a lost cause. (At one point, I had over a dozen mobs because the waves were coming too close together.) Targeting issues with the core in the way, and mobs spawning in the posts of the structure and such added to the frustration/difficulty

I can see some classes breezing right through this part - my SK and warlock especially - but other classes are likely ready to tear their hair out right now.

I'm in agreement with this one being to difficult. I'm a raid geared 92 Templar and my first attempt at this left me dead and the 2nd I managed to get the update but promptly died after getting it. The chain stun on this is terrible, I'm stiffle immune so it was definately stuns, and with my low DPS I had not killed the 1st wave when the final had spawned.

I would say make the stun lower chance to hit and maybe lower the duration of it and probably lower the mobs HPs some.

I took the stun off the swarmers (that come in batches of 4), which should help a lot on those waves. I can't prevent the NPCs from sometimes submerging themselves in the tower. I don't know why they're prone to doing that, but I'll see if I can adjust their spawn points to minimize it.

Thank you, I think the removal of the stun will make the quest much more doable for everyone

It's not a bad stun, but I can see where it would quickly become unmanageable with 8 of them chaining it on you

I ended up with 5 encounters of mobs after only killing one or two mobs from the first encounter. Failed extremely quick and had to use escape to avoid death. I'll try again tomorrow, was too annoyed at how overwhelming it was to do it again now.

Got this today finally with the help of Calthine and Obann. Calthine had already finished the quest yesterday and could not see most of the mobs we were fighting and had to resort to targetting them through her mercenary. Zeeil had no book over his head for turning the quest in.

The no book issue should be fixed (I put the fix in last week, but it may not have been patched by the time you tried it). I also added InCombat view predicates to the quest NPCs so that they are visible to all once engaged in combat.

Edited for bad english: All of the spawned NPCs should be visible at all times. None of them should be invisible even if you are not on the quest.
