Found an exploit that lets you harvest using the gathering goblin every 2 hours, even if only 1 point spent in that tradeskill ability.

Here is how to do it:

Cast the summon spell for the gathering goblin.

Send him out to gather whatever tier you want to harvest.

Log out of game or camp to another character.

Two hours later, log back in to your original character. The gathering goblin is still there, since the 10 minute spell duration has not yet expired. Note that the 12 hour recast time of the spell has not yet started, since the original goblin that was summoned has not yet expired or been cancelled.

Speak to the goblin and collect the harvests.

Send him out to gather whater tier you want to harvest again.

Rinse and repeat. If you are fast, one cycle takes about 30 seconds, so you can harvest every 2 hours about 20 times before the original spell duration of 10 minutes finally ticks away, and then you have to wait 12 hours to start the process all over again.

Also while I have your attention, I find it annoying that if you spend 5 points in this skill, you can instantly recast the goblin, but it still takes 2 hours for him to complete a harvest mission. You can keep summoning him, but there is no way to tell how much time is left before you can actually get the harvests from him. I would suggest that when you send the goblin out to harvest, that he disappears immediately and is not recastable until he is back from gathering. That would solve both problems.

I think he should be like the pony and the casting thing not even be part of the points in he should just cost 5 points to get like some aa require more points just to get in the first place.

I don't like the idea of a flat 5 points being spent to have it with the best timer. That's costing 2 points I could spend on another skill.

Having the goblin disappear after sending it out seems most appropriate if it's not going to hang around long anyway. The recast timers are fine with me. I don't check my ponies that often to begin with.

I don't see why anyone would bother doing this.
