I obtained a purified bubinga lumber from Krystalea and made a bubinga buckler using it, and then made one with a normal bubinga lumber.

The blue stats vary slightly when I examine them, but there's no difference in name and such, so it can be hard to tell at a glance which ones are using refined material.

Bubinga buckler (using normal bubinga)

27.9% multi attack chance

17.8 spell weapon multi attack chance

35.2% crit chance

6.5% crit bonus

6.5% potency

Bubinga buckler (using purified (refined) bubinga)

30.7% multi attack chance

19.6 spell weapon multi attack chance

38.7% crit chance

7.2% crit bonus

7.2% potency

Also, since they share the same item name, you can't have examine windows open for both, side-by-side ... you close examine on one to open examine on the other

I'd love to see results from other people's testing using refined materials!

I made a couple of spells with the refined Osmosium (can never spell that correctly) and the spells showed no differences. Not sure if they should or not. I did make one my class (Solar Flare X) could use and there was no difference between the examine and the actual spell.

Makes sense that there aren't any increases for spells.

I made a dagger.

Original:

Tungsten Dagger

138 agi, 138 sta

101.5 dps

44.8 crit

8.2 crit bonus

8.2 potency

93-408 damage

Purified:

Tungsten Dagger

138 agi, 138 sta

111.7 dps (+10.2)

49.3 crit (+4.5)

9 crit bonus (+0.8)

9 potency (+0.8)

93-408 damage

101.5 * 1.1 = 111.65

44.8 * 1.1 = 49.28

8.2 * 1.1 = 9.02

So yeah looks like just a 10% blue stat increase.

Can you refine a Reactive ?

Or is refining limited to harvestable material ?

I'll drag over some reactants the next time I copy and check. We'll also want to check other tiers, not just the top tier, and see if there's a difference in the percentage increase. (a spot-check of weapons, armor, jewelry for different tiers)

I have also crafted some pieces on my armorer with normal Tungsten and with purified Tungsten. I did also get the 10% increase in blue stats when inspecting the gear in your inventory. But when you put them on the broker they all inspected with stats as the normal Tungsten. So clearly they need to be given different names.

Another issue was that when you had both types of tungsten in your inventory I could not select which type I wanted to craft with. The game selected to craft with the purified first. Probably since that stack was smaller in this case.

i made cleansing totem of the dragon seer (it's mastercrafted fabled item using raid drop mat..) with purified burbingar today.

but no stat or effect change

i don't know it's intended or bug something..

p.s) colossal rectant and raid drop mats can not be refined .. i tried..

I copied a bunch of rares from live an I'll be running some tests and writing a breakdown along the way.
It doesn't seem that carpenters have any use for refined materials. I found no change in anything I made.
