View Full Version : Starting in the Jungle

Unless I've missed it, there are no quests sending us to the Jungle.. but when you arrive there, there are a bunch of NPCs and no feathers. It left me wondering why I was there, where I was supposed to go. If I've missed the quest sending us there, I apologize. If not, I'd suggest -something- to suggest direction for players.

To get your Eidolon quests, first do the line that comes in the mail to 92 characters that ends with a necklace reward (it's either Unexpected or Unintended Consequences). Then go to the camp around the Feerrott spire and there should be an NPC with another quest which will guide you to the Jungle.

Al'Kabor is in the Feerott, by the wizard spire - hail him to start the Signature Quest "Shades of Drinal: The Shores of Everafter."

Some people are reporting they are unable to hail and get this quest, even after completing the prelude quest "Unexpected Consequences."

That's odd. I have no quest in the mail other then the Night of the Dead quest starter.

I didn't have mail either. 92/320

Okay just to clarify -

Lizabethan is correct - you have to have completed "Unexpected Consequences" which begins with Erus Dal'viv in either Freeport or in Qeynos (depending on if you're a good guy or a bad guy). There should have been a message from Erus Dalviv pointing you that way, so I'll see if there is a problem with it, but it's been on live for a couple of weeks at least already. You don't need the message from Erus to be able to start the quest, though - he's happy to hand over the quest if you are level 92.

Mermut is correct about something else, also - there isn't a message pointing you to the Duality after you've finished Unexpected Consequences. I just added it earlier this afternoon, so you should see it once beta is back up. In the meantime, if you have or do finish Unexpected Consequences, you can go to the Hidden Camp in Feerrott, and the Duality should hand you the next step in the sig line.

Let me know if you run into any other problems with starting the sig quests.

Can you get one of those people saying they have finished Unexpected Consequences post here or PM me so I can get more information? The Duality isn't looking for much other than that quest completed, so I suspect something else is going on.

Thanks much!

I am unable to finish the Quest Unexpected Consequences. I go into the zone and get the mobs down to about 25% and try to use the talisman on them and it says you need a specific mob. Which is the mob I have targeted. I am using toons I copied over before that event went live. I deleted those toons while I wait for my toons to copy over. Not sure how long that will take. I did the request about 4 hours ago

I'm also unable to complete the instanced part of Erus' questline. Once i get the mob to below 50% where I ought to be able to use the quest item - I get a spam message saying 'Must be in the Circle of Karana'. No matter where I am in the zone.

Also unable to complete Unexpected Consequences, quest is bugged out. And with beta copy broken, I cannot test until one or the other is fixed. :s

Wait a second, you need to do "Unexpected Consequences" which was said to be a prelude to the signature to be able to get quests within the new zones?

It seems really odd to me and it should definatedly be explained. IMO, you shouldn't even be able to zone in Eidolon Jungle if you haven't done it, make it an access quest, not an unknown prerequisite that nothing is pointing you to.

I think the confusion is how it was messaged. But part of the reason it was released early was to begin giving you guys the story about the expansion and give you a bit of a head start.

However, these reports of it being broken are baffling. It was working on Live, so the fact that it seems to have broken is really strange. I'll look at that now.

I really don't want to go through collecting all my travel paintings from my house to use and recopy my 2 main toons.

SOOOO because the universe hates me...

There appears to be a bug in the way item spells are working, which broke Unexpected Consequences. QA and Code are looking at it, but for now, I've fixed the Duality on Beta to only be looking for level 92. He'll give you the quest Shades of Drinal: The Shores of Everafter. Once the bug is fixed, I'll revert him.

You know because... why not have something break that I haven't touched in a month? GOOD TIMES.

Okay, a fix for the baubles went in, so this should be fixed now. Let me know if you are still stuck on this part of the quest (although you still don't need it - the Duality just hands out his quest willy-nilly right now).
