New to Necro/Eq2

<p>First off Hello! I have a currently lvl 83 necro and I have some major question about this class. Some of the question i will be asking may have been discussed in eariler posts but they are so old that I wasnt sure if the info was still relevant. Anyway here we go!</p><p>1)Wanting to start raiding what is a necromancer focus? Do we mage pet/dot? Are we a sought after char for a raid?</p><p>2) What is your "default" spell chain. I guess i wanna make sure im not forgetting anything or that im doing in wrong order. I bloodcoil, oppertunity/soulrot, Pandemic, awaken and the other dumbfire, Bats.  Thats usually how i do it but ami forgetting something or doing in wrong order? thanks <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p>3) What are VERY important AA's to be getting/stiving for?</p><p>4) Soulburn When do you use it? when a tank has alot of hate build up and you cant steal it?</p><p>5) Are necros a powerful class to play or middle ground or weak?</p><p>6) What are some things i need to keep in mind/know (usefull hints/tricks) for this class.</p><p>7) Are we a great solo class? if so do we tank pet solo? (the best "something" changes with your lvl/gears/AA/encounters etc.)</em></strong> </p><p>3) What are VERY important AA's to be getting/stiving for?</p><p><strong><em>"Summoner" tree : Elemental Toxicity. "Necro" tree : Tainted Heals (for solo mostly) / Bloodpact (group/raid), Lifeburn, Minion Soulstealing and Accelerated Decay. In "Shadow" tree : endlines + Dimensional Storage. In "Heroic" tree : Soulburn</em></strong></p><p>4) Soulburn When do you use it? when a tank has alot of hate build up and you cant steal it?</p><p><strong><em>I usualy cast it early in my rotation and I adapt if the tank is really poorly geared (or just bad) </em></strong></p><p>5) Are necros a powerful class to play or middle ground or weak?</p><p><strong><em>I'm probably biased <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> but I think necros are rather powerful overall. </em></strong></p><p>6) What are some things i need to keep in mind/know (usefull hints/tricks) for this class.</p><p><strong><em>I hate open question <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Some random thoughts about necros : Threatmeter is your friend as well as an /assist macro (you can't see your pet's hate if you're not targeting the mob directly) Scout, Ooze and dumbfire pets are useless. Mortality Mark is the most underrated necro spell, use it, love it or betray to conjy <img src="/smilies/b2eb59423fbf5fa39342041237025880.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></em></strong></p><p>7) Are we a great solo class? if so do we tank pet solo? Also what is a good thing/destination to look out for to go and solo?</p><p><strong><em>Yes. Tank pet for the harder fights but a lot of things are doable with the mage pet (mobs die faster)</em></strong></p><p><img src="/eq2/images/smilies/b2eb59423fbf5fa39342041237025880.gif" border="0" /> SHould we merc when soloing? if so what merc and why.</p><p><strong><em>No, unless you have trouble killing whatever you're trying to solo (Merc takes XP and a necro with a merc doesn't kill two time as many mobs as one without). IMO the only useful merc for a necro is a healer, I like the Inq merc - good buff for the tank pet and he cures like a champ' - the Mystic wouldn't be bad if they ever fix his AI for curing (meh, what can I say...
