<p>Erus Dal'viv quest dialog:</p><p><p>No just yet, no. However, <NPC NAME REMOVED FOR SPOILER> has taken quite an interest in the calendar mentioned within the notes as of late.</p><p>No just yet, no. should read Not just yet, no.</p><p>After you talk to Taith you are supposed to return to a nearby NPC but no POI on map.</p><p>The raven in Freeport drops under the world and is unfollowable past that point. It even disappears from track.</p><p>No POI for Ghostclaw in Thundering Steppes.</p><p>Behind Ghostclaw: That zone is currently unavailable.</p></p>

<p>Same thing happened for me - raven falls under the world after hailing. Journal says to follow it and seconds later you get a journal update anyway and the map updates for next NPC to advance the quest. </p><p>Same issues with map/feather/book icons and zone unavailable.</p>

<p>Heya! So, sorry about the not-being-able-to-zone thing. However, that's intentional.</p><p>So, our art department was awesome enough to make a tailored zone for me for that step of the quest. It looks awesome!! Also, it has no floor right now. Unfortunately, if I let you in there now, this would happen:</p><p><img src="http://i1086.photobucket.com/albums/j442/cronyn2/omgnofloor.jpg" width="996" height="346" /></p><p>You can see how this might be "bad".</p><p>The art is fixed for me now, though - so it should be up the next time art gets pushed up to you guys (which I am told should be tomorrow). <p><strong>Unexpected Consequences</strong></p><p>1. Another typo in dialog on Erus before quest - "and the notes he has seems to explicitly" - should just be "seem".</p><p>2. It seems a bit odd having 2 dialogs with you asking the same question twice in a row. First you ask (and I'm paraphasing) "is he looking to take possession of the object?" and you're told "not just yet" and you immediately ask again "are you planning to take it?" My toon isn't that low on intelligence! I understood the first time. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p>3. No map POI for Taith McJarun - and I don't know where the location described is!</p><p>4. No map POI for Rikantus.</p><p>5. No quest book/feather returning to NPC after Rikantus. Or map POI.</p><p>6. When she goes a bit possessed and talks about the raven, I see the NPC fall down., Then stand up again and there's dialogue, then she falls down again.</p><p>7. Also in the stuff for 6. above, you don't get time to read and click on the dialogue between death states. It continues straight through.</p><p>8. First quest step when completed has name given without apostrophe as Erus Dalviv instead of Dal'viv.</p><p>9. (Qeynos) At the point Erus says he sees a bird behind you, well I don't see one. Which is rather confusing. It doesn't appear until you click a later dialogue step.</p><p>10. Raven step is cool and fun. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> In Qeynos it works fine. Only thing I noticed, at first it pauses frequently, Then going along the road between the houses it doesn't pause for a long time, maybe should have a couple stops added in there?</p><p>11. <p>My level 90 character copied to Beta has not received the mail to start the Prelude. Checking on some toons on Test.</p>

<p>I think maybe something is wrong with sending out the mails to start this quest. Is it requiring level 92? Shouldn't it be for everyone?</p><p>I'm hearing multiple people saying "it's not on Test yet" or "it's not on Beta". And they're assuming it's just not there because they don't have the mail.</p><p>My two different level 92 toons (one good, one evil) both have the mail. One is on Test, the other on Beta. But my level 35 alt on Beta didn't get it. Calthine said she has a level 90 on Beta and that toon didn't get the mail either.</p>

<p>I Was trying to figure out the pre-req's last night. Can't decide if it's 92 or if it's AA or if it's certain quests completed. (EDIT: I have it on 1 character out of 9. and it happens to be the 92/92/maxAA)</p><p>Cronyn: AWESOMESAUCE!! <p>Requirement right now is just level 92. As long as you've hit that level, you should get the message and be able to see Erus (who will hand you the quest whether you have the mail message or not, as long as you are 92).</p>

<p>Since all other prelude events scaled to level, even if the expansion was at the cap at the time, a lot of players will be extremely disappointed if this was locked at cap.</p><p>AOD, DOV, SF, TSO all scaled to level, and those are just the ones I've done. </p><p>It seems to be the norm that the prelude events scaled, and I have been looking forward to testing this. </p>

Well it should be!</p><p>The Sleeper's Tomb stuff is 92 heroic, following on from Jorlak's stuff in Skyshrine. That's high end restricted for obvious reasons. But this prelude stuff is in Antonica! It should be for all the low level guys and soloers too.</p><p>Ugh... but I suppose this story follows on from all the Velious stuff though, right? <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>

I cannot believe you'd make an event exclusionary. Even if we cannot do the content, we should be able to enjoy the teaser and advancement of the story.</p>

<p>Okay so, I see the confusion, and I'm sorry about this!</p><p>So, this isn't intended to be a "prelude" in the vein of past prelude events - this is actually step one of the signature line for the expansion. We're releasing it early to give you guys a lead in to the expansion, but it is actually intended to be part of the live content - in other words, it will remain once the expansion goes live (and will be part of that story). It's similar to the Sleeper's content, intended for the appropriate levels.</p><p>Again, this will remain live once the expansion goes up, so you'll always have access to it - that's the way I always wanted it to be, which is why it can't scale - otherwise, a new level one player would have to wait a LOOOOOONG time to find out why (COMPLETELY RETRACTED THANKS GNINJA FOR POINTING OUT MY FLAWS). <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" /></p><p>Sorry folks! It just suddenly dives straight down under terrain and despawned. Might be fixed now but I don't have another toon yet to test with. buffer on beta pls?</p>

Because it seems like the raven doesn't like Freeport much. I'm going to take a look at him today and see if I can figure out what his major malfunction is.</p>

<p>Impossible to collect the 6 essences since the mob has to be under 50% to use the item, and I am 1 shotting everything in there. need to bump the HP up. Hitting for 20k and killing it.</p>

<p>Finishing the quest...</p><p>1. The zone artwork is COOL! The strange spirit doesn't make any sound when it spawns. This seemed a bit odd. I've got combat sounds etc and this awesome setting, and this named spirit appears on me... but he's silent.</p> <p>3. The named spirit is also too low HP I think - this fury has Withered Lands quested gear and he was nearly one-shotted. Not a very rewarding fight, in the sense of having achieved something.</p> <p>4. He did not do this for me. I just killed him and he despawned poof no trace at all.</p><p>5. "This essence is already being absorbed" for me this was actually on the amulet from the git-go. I hovered over it as soon as I got it and that is what it said.</p><p>7. yep same for me..</p><p>9. Yes found it way to fast as was unable to read it, however I did read it as it was there in my chat window. If I've got it the right way around, the evils met Ravinus whilst the goodies met Ilfanul.</p><p>Also because the beastlord prelude was only ingame for a short period of time, going forwards a lot of people hitting this sig line won't have done that piece of content, and will need the explanation on who this ghost bird NPC is.</p><p>That was my thinking anyway.</p>

And in fact, there's dialog in place to mention that fact.</p><p>If anyone is evil and remembers doing the Beastlord prelude, can you verify that Ravinus doesn't have to explain who he is? <p><strong>I did the Beastlord prelude with Chiloh (evil) and Ravinus did recognize me after I spoke with Ghostclaw. The Raven spawned normally and lead me to Ravinus in TS without getting lost. I could not remember where Erus was so I first went to Antonica near Rikantus and he was not there and remembered Freeport and he was outside of the Academy of Arcane Sciences in N. Freeport. Finished the quest and waiting for the next contact <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />. I enjoyed this one.</strong></p>

They need to be maybe double the hp they have now, at least. and maybe normal strength instead of 1 down arrow. Make them as tough as a normal dov iceclad crab or something...these pour weak souls! *sniffle*</p><p>And i had to exit and reenter the zone 2-3 times to get enough souls, even with merc and bl pet backed off and no weapons on me. theres tons of empty area in this instance, maybe you could double the number of souls? =)</p>

I never said before, THANK YOU for not sending us off to search a library again, but coming up with an alternative route. And even making a bit of a joke about it.</p><p>3. No POI for returning to Erus in Freeport.</p><p>4. Raven appears ok at Erus in Freeport and flies to Ghostclaw fine now.</p><p>5. I see the dialogue on Ghostclaw outside the zone-in varies for goodies and evils. And as an evil you say that you remember Ravinus - so yeah I've changed my mind on this one. Could you split the dialogue on Ravinus to greet him as if you know him and skip the explanation sentence of who he is?</p><p>6. I'm still having a REALLY hard time with the essences dying too easily. This fury is better geared, and even the weakest of my fury's spells will one-shot them. Even melee auto-attack can one-shot them. Or the 1st hit won't get below 50% then the 2nd hit kills them.</p><p>Please increase their hp more! This is just painful to do, failing on half the mobs and needing to zone out and back in to a 2nd instance. You can't do the quest unless you're 92 anyway so scaling isn't an issue.</p><p>7. <p>Please more HP on the Wracked Souls, I was still killing them to fast with a level 1 master on my fury.</p><p>after i managed to get the souls, the update after needs more too.... that was... silly I'm not that awesome to look at a mob and have it die...and when i say it died, it was dead so fast it didn't turn into a corpse for nearly a 10 count just kept repeating it's run towards me and looped for a while.</p><p>Bauble from the quest is also not removed from your inventory on completion even though you give it to Ghostclaw.</p>

Rawr!</p></blockquote><p>I'm not sure when the next update is due, but as of 1:30pm Pacific on Saturday these are so easy that all my Necro has to do is look at them and they collapse. I'm really not exagerating. I had to use Tier 1 spells and dismiss all my help.</p><p>Edit: On the other hand, the raven worked perfectly. About the only thing I could really pick with is the character who I ran this on never did any Nek Castle stuff <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> But that's awfuly nit-picky.</p>

I bumped up the HPs on both the essences and the enforcer, so they should be able to take more hits, but reading some of the comments here, I don't think any of those changes are up yet (typos and such have been fixed for a couple of days now).</p><p>Thanks for the reports, though. Hopefully you guys can see the fixes soon.</p>

<p>Yeah, was actually able to fight these Essences and enforcer with weapons equiped and not one hit em... I even got to use me combat arts with my guardian on the enforcer.. The don't do much dmg to you, but now they don't die just by you looking at them. lol.</p><p>Eshaac</p>

looks much better. i was able to keep my weapons on, and even use a combat art or 2 :O , and the ^ guy after didn't fall over too easy neither, but both are easy enough to do even for the poorly geared, i would imagine. The only thing i noticed is i would still say it would sound better if Ravinus would say "began" instead of "begun", it doesn't seem like proper grammar the way he used it. Nice changes though! <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

<p>I was in a group when I zoned into the Rings of Karana today and we both entered (we expected this to be solo so didn't disband). Since we were already inside we went ahead and started hitting the essences thinking, once again that since we zoned-in as a group we would get a group update, but we didn't.</p><p>Wasn't a real big deal since one of us just zoned back out and we disbanded, but thought I'd post to let you know that this happens.</p>
