Hello all.

I tried searching through the forums but couldn't find an exact match for my particular situation so I thought it was best to post my question and see if anyone else can think of possible resolutions.

I have a new computer and all new hardware (except for the DVD-Drive), and everything is working very well. The only issue I'm experiencing right now is that there's a constant static buzzing in game when I have the EQ2 client open. Even when I turn off all sounds, I can still hear the loud buzzing. However, if I minimize the EQ2 client window, the buzzing sound is gone and I can hear all the game sounds perfectly. When I have the EQ2 window maximized and right click the top bar (to provide options for "Restore, Move, Size, Minimize, Maximize, Close"), the buzzing stops as well until I make a selection or close the Right-Click window options.

If you need any specific details about my hardware or DXDiag, please let me know. I've been searching for a resolution for a while now and can't seem to figure it out, especially since it only happens with the EQ2 client and only when the window is maximized. Any help or direction anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hehe, never mind... looks like the problem was the sound level settings were set really low inadvertently (at a 3) so the speakers and earphones were overamplifying the volumes and creating a static sound in the EQ2 game client. I'm still not sure why the buzzing static sound wasn't there when the EQ2 window was minimized and the game ambient sounds and music were still playing in the background, but at least the problem is resolved anyway.
