In addition to the items made by Norrath’s amazing and friendly crafters (available through trades and the in-game broker), you can purchase an assortment of services, items, and features with Station Cash from the EQII in-game Marketplace, to enhance your gameplay experience. Appearance armor, mounts, prestige homes, and server transfer tokens are just some of the items available. New items are added to the Marketplace weekly.

Race Change Potion Two-Pack Does your Ratonga feel that maybe, deep down, it’s really supposed to be a Froglok? Has your High Elf fallen from grace and want to experience the Dark Elf life instead? Is your Human longing to sprout wings and fly, either as a Fae or an Arasai? No need to wander Norrath in the grips of an existential crisis! With the race potion two-pack, you can transform into your true identity without fearing regret. If you change your mind later, you can change right back!

Can you make these services Heirloom instead? Purchasing a two-pack of a no-trade item given the utility of the service involved is not particularly lucrative for most.

Extremely deceptive, buy now, read the fine print later and petition later kind of thing lol

One suggested use for the two-pack would be to try out a different race model for using SOEmote (say, going from Sarnak to Human). This may be useful if you're considering entering our SOEmote video contest and want to experiment with different race models using the SOEmote feature while making your video.

Of course, there are other reasons for wanting two race change potions. This is just one suggestion!

~Dexella

A cheap, quick way of checking to see if you like a particular race would be to use the in game petrified eyes from the collections and then buy a haircut from the npc merchant to change your appearance. However you can not get the eyes for the sarnak, arasai or fae.

Then once you pick the race that you want you can buy the race change potion(s).

The problem is >>>>> the box says Heirloom which might easily be purchased thinking it contains heirloom items. When you open it you have 2 no trade potions which must be used by the character that opens it.

Not a big deal if you like telling people who petition later that they should have read it more carefully.

I posted this in General Gameplay but I'll post it here too. The fact that these items are no-trade is idiotic and really serves no purpose. Due to the sale I had someone gift me an Amnesia potion for my Inquisitor, but they gifted it to my Assassin instead and now it was essentially a waste of 700 SC.

I can't see how having these as heirloom would lead to an exploit, and according to today's upcoming patch notes, the individual race change potions are being changed to Heirloom.

Please god make this a retroactive change, and apply it to all of the marketplace services. It's pointless to have them labeled as no trade.

No problem here at all but I always read the description of every item that I purchase with SC before I buy to be sure I am getting what I want. I saw that the crate was heirloom and that both potions were No Trade before I bought them so I ended up not buying them. It's common sense when the regular potions were No Trade and have always been No Trade.

If people can not take a few seconds to read over the product that they are buying then I do not feel sorry for them at all.

Now after today's patch if the crate is still heirloom and the potions are not then yes, I would have an issue with that because the regular race change potions will be heirloom according to the update notes.

Umm.. why not use a free account instead?

I sincerely doubt any player would ever suggest doing something as ridiculous as that, especially when we have the illusion items from bone collections to use for free.

I can't promise all my ideas are good ones. It was just one suggestion...

For those curious about the change to heirloom, I am looking in to what this means if the potions were bought previously. As soon as I have an update, I'll let you know.

~Dexella

Can players with free or silver membership choose the new race from all available 20 races (incl. Freeblood)?

Or must they buy a race pack first?

Hah! The only person I know who would get these are Lera, as she has been buying them to change races for all the quests in Freeport and now Qeynos.

To answer some of the questions brought up:

(1) Yes, the heirloom is retroactive. So, if you purchased race potions before the update, they should now be heirloom and not no-trade.

(2) General_Info is correct, you can only select races that are available to you.

Thanks!

~Dexella
