I've noticed that I can't make it through dungeons with avatars that I used to be able to. Have I gone soft or has the difficulty for avatars gone up recently?

I liked playing the avatars, but I seem to be spending an increased amount of time respawning or waiting to regain health.

Has something changed? Is this likely to be permanent?

I think it is more a case of loosing track fo which is the best avatar to use. AOE ones are popular for the grind dungeons. when it started 'solo' groups of mobs were 3-4 now the same 'solo' groups of mobs are 5-7 and that's if they are well placed enough so you dont pull a second +5 group.

I'd suggest you play around with the avatars you have see which one you like and then look for a dungeon you can grind with it without too much diffculty.

I'm talking about the story/themed dungeons I'd been through in the past, including my own that I'd tested extensively. Avatars that I'd been able to go through specific dungeons with in the past, now result in more deaths and near misses than before.

A group I play with also experienced more difficulties than in the past. It seems like balancing for player characters did something to the relative difficulty of the avatars.

I don't much care about the tokens, I just wanted to be able to enjoy an average to challenging difficulty themed dungeon without repeated respawn runs. I've tried several of the avatars with no luck.

I know the grind dungeons appear to be the most popular, but they just aren't fun for me, so I can't speak to how well the avatars work for those.

You may be on to something with the mob difficulty and aggro thing. It might not be a change in the avatars, but a change in the mobs. I notice another thread about mob difficulty has shown up too.

I've seen a change again in the frequency of flavor text, so perhaps they aren't done fiddling with mobs yet either. My worry is that they will focus only on getting playing as your character right and leave the avatars to slowly fade away. BUT I LIKE THE AVATARS!
