After 5 years away I have returned to the game and to be honest I feel like I have wasted 5 years. The game is astounding and should be the template to what all fantasy MMOs should aspire to. Enough of the fanboi stuff, here is my question....I love playing plate DPS classes, in eq2 I know there is no dedicated dps plate class as such, so I dont mind not getting a group or raid place, i can get a wizzy or ranger for that, I just want an effective DPS plate for general adventuring and soloing. At the moment I am leveling a SK, is this the best choice for dps?

With the new reckless stance, all fighters got a large boost to their DPS potential. Crusaders were already doing pretty well DPS wise so with reckless stance on they are in a very good dps place for the time being. So your choice should work out well =).

And just FYI, I've solo'd with most classes and you would not have any issues with any of the fighters in the current game.

Boy did you ever pick the right time to come back.

Roll a fighter, put yourself into reckless stance as soon as you get it (I think they said level 20) and don't look back.

inquis is also good plate dps just a healer. the dps stance will be changed at some point because it's unbalanced among fighters but even before this change SK was a solid damage class.
