View Full Version : What is the point of the Focuses... if they don't even modify your spells properly.

For spells like Shockwave for the coercer... or Voice of the Ancestors for Defilers... that reduce reuse time by like 15 seconds..

If you are already at cap for reuse which it is NOT hard to get with even moderate gear.. why are these focuses here if they are just "wasted" choices? Honestly these focuses should still work despite the reuse cap rule.

I am sure there are other classes and other skills that are affected and wasted as Focus choices..but still. Its a pretty blatant oversight imo.

I love the conjuror Stoneskin focus. It decreases your reuse time (when most mages at 92 have 100% anyway) AND it halves the recovery time of the Stoneskin, making it 0.25 seconds. Now that's what we all have been looking for.

Those things are nice for scouts and tanks, for mages and healers they're pretty meh.

The devs simply don't get that this particular focus is not actually doing anything.

If you look closer, most (I can't vouch for all since I don't have one of each class) of the foci that modify reuse also add a bit of crit bonus to the spell/art in question now.

Once upon a time reuse was a VERY rare stat... it made me proud to sacrifice tons of cool abilities for a super useful jesters cap on my troub.

These days I can often get tells from a healer or someone in a group I was attempting to help with a jcap, that they are already capped on it and I should give it to someone else.

Too bad there is no overcap on it either, so the secondary effects of jcap are the only useful things for people on cap. Though cap is easier to get for some classes than others, so there is always that (for now)
