I've recently returned and in less than 24 hours I'm back to the login, sit around, logout state again which usually took at least a week before it kicked in after a break.

What are you doing in game to keep busy and progress?

My playtime is between 5-10 hrs a week split between 3-4 days. I have tons I want to do but usually have to settle for doing things I can squeeze into the odd hour I get to play at any one time. For those, I have been leveling up my new zerker. Got a ton of stuff to do with him, most notably getting to 80, doing epic, then getting to 85 and doing epic repercussions. Doing the same with a warden on another account. If I manage to get a play session longer than 2 hours, I try to play my main to get a UD group. If I can't get that (I play off peak for my server), I may do a CD/Lyceum run and there's always the option of working on tradeskills, although that's always at the bottom of the pile as I find it boring. So plenty for me to do. If I could play 3 times as much I'd probably burn out quicker, but because my time is limited I still have tons to do to keep me interested. I could probably start another 3 or 4 classes also before I get bored of the game and run out of things that interest me.

Do the apprentice tradeskill quests. Then either do something to get an armor/accessory upgrade on my main, do an old quest to clear it out of my quest journal, or try and complete Scale Break...again. I hate that quest. I really really do.

Usually after failing at Scale Break I log out in frustration and go read.

I have been running Skyshrine instances with the girls who are old enough. I'm levelling two 80ish toons and two 90 toons. I have been playing in player-made dungeons with a mercenary. I have been soloing older content with a mercenary. I am grinding up tradeskills on a few more toons. And I harvest and hunt shinies.

20 alts in various stages of leveling. Too many houses to count..also in various stages of completion. Level 33 Guild with half a dozen true noobs to teach the game. Crafting, questing, building, decorating and events. You know all the boring mundane meh everyone complains about in EQ

As to above I hear you, 12 alts myself, I am determined to have one of each class, at 90 you could stay busy forever.

Going over my stats and figuring out what would be the biggest gains in performance. Maybe pushing out pools of test encounters to pick apart on ACT, looking over my rotations. Then looking up what encounters drop what loot, seeing where the paths of least resistance are in getting stats I need.

So basically researching how I can further improve my characters and setting goals to do it.

Now that I have some target goals I arrange to have runs for content. Seeing what's soloable. Looking for PUG's or talking to people I know and putting together groups for a later date. As well as seeing what my guild will be running in terms of raid content for the current week to see what might be dropping and being prepared to try and get it and adorn it.

If I can't find anything like this to do in game I don't take it for granted. I enjoy doing some 'useless' things in game or get some work done IRL because I'm sure it won't be long until I do find something I will want to go after to improve my performance.

Raid, see what I can solo on my bruiser, talk with people. Run a skyshrine heroic instance and remember why they bore me. Probably going to replace seeing what I can solo on my bruiser with BGs on my warlock once mending runes are nerfed.

Not playing much until I can experience what ProSieben is going to do to my enjoyment of the game and decide if finally dumping EQ2 for the other great games out there is my way to play.

So currently I only log on to complete spell research and apprentices once or twice a month, I do not want to invest more time than that.

I prepaid for a year so got plenty of time to decide.

That's easy, basically I'm keeping me busy with other games right now.

I do log in for raids 4 times a week (for 2.5 hours).

The other thing is, I keep lockouts from SoH and PR on cooldown plus I dualbox my tank and my healer along with 2 mercenaries through Covenant District in hope of a mythical weapon.

Been there like a million times now, sometimes four, five, six times a day but still nothing >.<

I guess then farming a mythical is the hugest timesink atm...

There's always enough "stuff" to keep me busy. But I've noted a huge drop in the LFG msgs in the 80-89 channel on CB. My theory is that the 90min reset has killed the heroic content. Folks have either farmed what they needed or are just burned out.

Readng the EQ2 discussion forums now and again and playing EQ1. You can level 25 pointless alts on eq2 if that's your thing though, but I'd rather EQ2 find its roots and quit copying easymode snoozefest games so I can come back to something enjoyable.

My current fave project is a level locked 25 Guardian (in MC Armor only) in Butcherblock with nearly 80 AA's and Templar Merc. All the Bugbears and Kobolds are orange and red to it. Even with a healer merc, its a good fight.

Getting easier though as the AA's pile up...so may move to a higher level area.

Raf
