May have an issue with a guild a friend and I used to have full control over, but long story way short, had all access completely stripped when an old officer came back after years of not playing. No in-game mails or anything to us, just logged in and demoted me and my friend without a word.I've got lots of items in that hall I want back in case this is a hostile takeover and not just a misunderstanding, but what's the extent that GMs can go to? I hear they can get No-Trade items back (which would work for the LoN and similar items), but is that it? Can they get back other Heirloom items and rare event items as well?Yep, I may have learned an important lesson the very hard way, but I'm hoping some of my friend's hard work and mine can be salvaged if the fecal matter hits the fan here.

First, contact the returned guy via ingame email or chat, and make sure you screenshot the exchanges. Be polite and explain your concerns. If it is a hostile takeover, then politely ask for your stuff back.

If the guy is a jerk and does not freely restore your stuff, then /petition, and attach the screencaps of the coversations.

In the event you get a hostile takeover and the rest of hte guild is also unhappy, if you can get the majority of the guild to agree that the old guy is undesirable, as a group you can /petition to regain control of the guild. List everybody's toons. The GMs usually contact everybody and verify.

Luckily, this is a rare occurrence.

Unfortunately I haven't been on when they've been on, and for the time being I can't send in-game mails (working on getting my account unfrozen and back to Gold so I can). I gave my email in my guild notes and told them to go to our new site and put a diplomatic message there. Best I can do until SOE can bring my account back to Gold.

I didn't know that the rest of the guild could vote like that. Currently it's just me, two friends, and my fiance who are also a part of the guild. I noticed that this person is trying to recruit again which of course makes me nervous, but I'm hoping this doesn't blow up into nastiness.

Fortunately the GM I talked to on the matter of getting my account restored said that I could list all the items that are LoN or SC and they'd get them back for me if things got ugly. No word yet on the No-Trade and Heirloom items, some of which were world event items I can never get back again. We'll see what happens.

The GM should be able to mail no trade and heirloom items to the account that owns them. Be sure and ask about that.

I learned this the hard way when my level 87 guild of 3 yrs was yanked under me bu the now leader of the knights templar when i was on vacation and yes I was the founder. I took it up many levels in petitions. They are quick to remind me the all leaders have the same rights no matter the circumstance how they obtained leader because some one had to hit the accept button to get them there. so the fellow who got accidently promoed removed other co leaders officers sr officers and active members and change the name to what it is no. Would not give us our hall stuff back and soe is like so sorry nothing we can do

In short lick your wounds

Luckily, this is a rare occurrence.

This must be a "tricky" thing for GM's to fix, if you put an item (that belongs to you) in a guild hall, isn't that considered a donation to the guild? Maybe things get treated on a case by case basis for them to make a determination to get items back or not.

It sucks to lose items, especially in the possible way you have described. One thing to choose to walk away than to be forced out :/

(side note - this may be an example of why lots of items from SC haven't received the flag to be used in guild halls - not that a red name has ever really posted this reasoning, just my own 2cp)
