The ground speed on Cloud of bats, which cost 1950sc, is still 65%. I suggest it should be increased to match other ground mounts from the SC of 130%-135%. Then move to 75%/150% when able to fly. Possibly have it set as 2 seperate spells. A 135% ground version, and at 85, when you get the flying one, have it as a seperate spell.

Or at least allow the cloud of bats to be used as an illusion for all other mount types.

Just wanted to bring this to peoples attention.

Flying Mounts don't have that much ground movement speed.

I understand where you're coming from. About four months ago I purchased the Freeblood class and the Cloud of Bats mount. It was just a ground mount when I started. I was disappointed when I discovered that it was moving at half of the speed of ANY other ground mount I could have purchased. It doesn't work indoors either so there's no benefit for buying this mount.

I recently got that toon to 85+ and then had to quest (takes about a week) to give my expensive, SC mount the ability to finally fly. So, here's the lessons I learned from that experience:

1. Never buy this ability/mount. It's a cool graphic, but brings no other discernible benefit. Actually the bat screeches get on my nerves after a while.

2. Buy any other flying mount and you would then have the 75% ground speed and at 85 and you can automatically fly instead of then having to quest it at 85+.

3. Buy any other ground mount and you would enjoy 130-135% ground speed for less cost than the Cloud of Bats and you can move at this speed immediately without level restrictions.

I ended up buy the bat wings for the same price as the Cloud of Bats (even though I'm now 91 and did the flying quest) because the bat screeches really started to grate on me. As I play in first person, I also didn't have the constant bats flying in front of my face either. I really like the ability, but you do get quite shorted when you consider what you get for the cost. As for lore, I ended up calling my wings more or less an Underworld Corvinus aproach to why I have them.
