View Full Version : Authentication required

This little box appears on the website when i try to sign up for All Access saying authentication required. That's great except the box is a blank white box with nothing in it for me to actually authenticate. I can't subscribe until I can do this I guess.

You may need to contact your financial institution or card provider representative for further assistance on that matter. It is a security feature from the provider that we have very little to do with outside of it being a required step if you are set to take advantage of Verified by Visa or Mastercard SecureCode (or any other related service).

We tried with the banks tech support from all three browsersa and still no luck. I've switched my payment to another card to pay for this months installment but will switch back to the debit card when it gets close to reneweal time to see if this is fixed.

We wouldn't be able to 'fix' it on our side, that portion calls up the data from the financial institution for SecureCode. I.e., everything that is failing to load is failing to do so directly from the financial institutions web services, not ours.

I did report it, and we'll see if we can help the process along or if anything else we don't already know may be in play as well. I'll try to post updates if and when they come to me.

Please also make sure that there aren't any security software features on the PC that may block pop-ups or even SSL. This is beyond just the IE security settings so if you have any internet security suite software, or anti-mal/spyware software, that it is also disabled. We've seen situations where this also prevented that portion of the process from proceeding.

It wouldn't work around any issue that may exist on the financial institutions services but we've been able to reproduce similar results with these types of security software features.

Nothing that i can find that would be blocking the authentication screen and have tried on more than one pc and have used before to buy.

I tried everything from various different browsers, setting my security settings to lowest possible, logging in as admin on my PC, enabling pop-ups, disabling all firewall and anti-virus programs. What confuses me is people say they are having this problem with multiple banks. Why would this happen to more than one bank?

I can and have purchased SC as well. Right before this post in fact. The problem is the all access pass requires a window to load where you enter a password. That is broken here but not anywhere else I have looked.

I ended up giving up and getting the EQ2 monthly. It's not practical, though, because I need access to the rest of the games. I am hoping whatever is causing it is fixed.

If any of you are set up through a EUROPEAN bank for your cards you will NOT be able to purchase all access as of 3/29/12. SOE made that plain in the faq they posted on 3/30/12.
