Any MT cleric knows to min-max for shield ally~ and tonight, my shield ally was litterally killing me.

There is a new damage proc that is on most if not all new hardmod mobs, that whenever you avoid an attack you take slashing damage called thunderclap.

Tonight thunderclap was hitting me from anywhere between 17k min- 27k max, everytime i had an avoid~ This damage will not absorb wards, or trigger reactives, and a good string of avoids will kill the cleric.

I can see how this change was intended to fix brawlers, but it's the clerics who are really getting hurt in the process. Shield ally is a class defining ability, and this change makes clerics ( most of all templars) Even less desirable in hardcore raiding.

Is this change intended for us?

And yet another thing that byasses wards completely. What was the point of making all proc's bypass wards. Combine this with the 100% melee procs they now have on everything and it's a big chunk of damage that can't be warded.

Really? a new mechanic where you get hit while avoiding? So instead of gearing to survive and avoid attacks to stay alive. We want as little avoidance as possible? As a guardian I can no longer use Moderate, Sustain, or even my avoidance on someone else because it will get me killed. I really hope this isnt intended this way or you are going to have a lot of tanks quitting. Tanks already hate grouping due to how you need the perfect setup to maintain aggro. Now tanks are going to hate raid content as well. I really hope this gets fixed soon.

This has got to be the most outrageously idiotic mechanic I have ever heard of. I though Strikethrough was bad, but this is just completely ridiculous. I really can't even properly express how appalled I am that anybody who designs games could ever think that this could be a good idea. Maybe for a single specific encounter it would be okay, but using it on multiple MOBs just blows my mind.

Protip for the obvious game design newbs who came up with this: punishing players for doing what they're supposed to do and enjoy doing doesn't make for a good play experience.

And then you will see toon running in level 10 gear without any buff on anyone on 100 HM encounters in case they have added some new weird stuff that makes no sense and get you killed if you absorb more than 50% of dmg...
