So are we getting a day added to our accounts....because a couple hours is one thing but a full day without some sort of compensation is bunk. You don't pay for something and not get full use of it....would be like paying for cell phone for a month but our service is gonna be down but we are still making you pay full amount. Just saying we should get a day added cause everyother monthly service you pay for gives you a credit for their down time.
Maintenance Notice: Monday, April 23, 2012 – 24 Hours!

Important: We will perform maintenance beginning at 12:01AM Pacific* on April 23, 2012.
first off this stuff is *normal* and infequent. it's one of the parts of playing the game no different then owning a car every once and a while you need a minor or major service.

It's a 50c loss on your part. is 50c really worth complaining about?

also do not forget they are letting you know ahead of time and not just springing it on you.

Do you think Toyota is gonna send you a check because the brakes wore out on your Avalon and you couldn't use the car? Is Hewlett Packard gonna send you a check because your graphics card went out and you couldn't play EQ2 until it was replaced?#unreasonableexpectations

Well, it says:

You also acknowledge and agree that SOE and its Third Party Providers do not ensure continuous or error-free access or availability of any game content, feature, game-play, service or server and may change, modify, disable, suspend or remove any such content, feature, game-play, service or server in their sole discretion.

So you've already agreed that its ok if downtime happens.

I'll place a 100 plat bet that there will be a double xp day to compensate for whatever is deemed a failure.

This is one of many things that show how poor this company is... and u can spend all money u want in comercial departament, fail service is fail service.

Is soo fun that after all time this GU was in test, that is only a small place, we start with the 2 weeks of daily maintenance (that all know it will happen), and lol at this one of 24hs... that can add other lost day for all Naggafen / Freeport that will be second day in a row without play.
I understand maintenance procedures and the fact that they are required. But I must say, out of all mmorpgs I've played the past 15 years, SOE ones are always down the longers. Rarely seen downtimes such as this one this Monday, for 24 hours. But hey, if it's necessary, its necessary, but that doesn’t mean we have to like it.

Has anyone seen a post anywhere saying what maintenance activities are going to occur? I don't mind a 24 hour downtime if I know why. But just "maintenance" doesn't really tell me much and makes me wonder why it couldn't be performed in some sort of rolling fashion vs. an entire day of everything being offline leaving me with a feeling of lack of consideration by SOE for player discomfort. I'm sure that's not the case, but would be nice to see it expressed and explained ... somewhere.

Sure would be nice if they did at least give a hint of why they are shutting us out for a day.

Well you could always look at it this way :-

Most GU done by SOE for the last 7 odd years have always gone pear shaped when launched on live servers and you have to put up with a downtime, server restarts ect ect so we whine about that..

So

This time they got it right but not wanting to seem they know what they doing ,they make the servers still go down so we all feel the need to still whine about somthing instead of saying Well Done.....with this GU.

DE
