Stop messing with the fricking Launcher!

Get a coder who can do the job right THE FIRST TIME ROUND and quit breaking the damned thing already.</p><p>Why in the name of hell would it suddenly decide that it needs to pre-load assets a-la-streaming, taking 10 minutes to load the Character Select screen, when I've only installed the full game -- and never got an error like people were reporting over the past few days?</p><p>I DON'T want a streaming game.</p><p>I DON'T want a hybrid streaming-full game launcher.</p><p>Just leave my damned launcher alone so I can play WHEN I WANT TO, HOW I WANT TO.</p><p>For the mods: NO, I do not need tech support, so don't move this post to the tech support forum. <p>Update: It seems that the new "EverQuest2.exe" that was pushed to the EU servers last night -- you know... the one that was supposed to fix the "Holy s**t, you may have both the Full game and the Streaming game installed, let's delete everything" issue? -- is broken.</p><p>SURPRISE!</p><p>Launcher starts fine. Says that all files are good to go. GIVES ME NO OPTION TO SELECT STREAMING OR FULL GAME (not that it ever did)... And as soon as the game starts, it behaves EXACTLY LIKE THE STREAMING VERSION.</p><p>I'm sick of you guys. You're completely destroying every last ember of desire I have to play this festering cesspool you call a game these days.</p>

<p>Removing the checkbox for <strong>Full Version</strong> was particularly helpful. Avoiding the Streaming launcher should not require editing INI files.</p>

<p>Does anyone know how I can fix this? I am on a pretty slow internet connection and its trying to stream 14gigs of data while trying to play. Its unplayable and have been unable to play for the last day or so. Takes me half an hour to load a zone. I have the full client so it shouldnt be streaming. I HATE that streaming rubbish. I prefer to leave my computer on over night downloading the entire client so i can play lag free. I will be really annoyed if i need to redownload the entire game again!</p>

<p>My launcher seems to not be messing up.  No streaming.  However I've had a glitch for a while where it closes in less than a minute after opening it.  I have to quickly choose a character to log into and have to reopen it to open another account.  Maybe that glitch is protecting me?  <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/136dd33cba83140c7ce38db096d05aed.gif" border="0" /></p>

<p>No issues here too... try to reinstall the launcher.  Post on the launchpad forums too.  MattMeyer seems to be watching them pretty closely now.</p><p>And, please, don't bring back Launcher 1.0.  The whole "aversion to change" thing gets a bit extreme here.  I do NOT want to go back to the days of downloading one file at a time through one, slow connection.  I do NOT want to go back to the days of that one connection being bottlenecked due to how inefficient the thing was at sending me files, and how many others were patching.  And I sure as heck don't want to go back to the days of a launchpad that took longer to load and scan files than it did to boot up windows in some cases.</p><p>No.  Fracking.  Way.</p>

<p>Since I have a fast internet connection the streaming is only a minor annoyance, my biggest problem is that I cannot switch language properly, I go to play on Valor in German, click play and get my US character list, so I have to quit and try again, at which point it spends an age checking my entire installation with no guarantee that I will get Valor this time either.</p><p>I checked the configuration files and the problem does not lie there, it is simply a case of the launcher being broken.</p>

<p>LoL, man this is hilarious xD</p><p>This game is out for SO LONG and you still encounter bugs and problems already BEFORE logging into the game it's just funny...</p><p>I've had it so much with this company/game... Everything got destroyed over the last few years and now</p><p>they even mess up the launcher OMG.</p><p>Maybe they should transfer the entire game to pss1 - I don't trust them either bot how much worse can it become?</p>
