Tons of people having problems, mine just sits on a black screen forever. Getting into the game by direct launch isnt going to work after a patch goes in, at which point I won't be playing at all.

You changed something, it doesnt work. Get it fixed please. (and no, we are not going to reinstall the game, many people pay for bandwidth)

i cant even get into the game anymore. gonna delete my entire eq2 folder on my 2nd eq2 hard drive and try to re install but have to find that full download client again

Agreed, still having issues. I get stuck at the black screen with SOE logo, then it disappears. I've tried repairing file, closing start up programs (based off SOe recommendation from live chat/ help), rebooted router and modem, made sure virus protection was turned off... and lastly, I deleted my files, and tried downloading, and still nothing. What's going on?

Same issue here. Our 'high speed' internet here is redonkulous! The streaming client just isnt playable. The entire game is on all 3 of our machines, but when we run install and run the full download client it tries to redownload the whole game (Which takes almost 2 days). Even worse, every patch (and sometimes just randomly) it decides it wants to redownload it all over again, making the game unplayable for another 2 days.

We were able to do a workaround for awhile by running the streaming patcher, then hitting 'yes' but not restarting and hitting play anyway, but that stopped working. We also tried just running everquest2.exe, but no luck there either.

Direct booting is not an acceptable solution -- If there is a patch, the normal login is still broken, and direct booting no longer works, I will simply quit EverQuest 2.

Letting such a flagrant error with forseeable consequences go on for so long is utterly negligent and unprofessional.
