I decided to grab one and I can't help notice how low quality the textures are compared to all the other pets in my house.

I run on Extreme Quality and its glaringly noticable.

The Gryphon mounts are also of the same "plastic fantastic" quality and it makes me wonder if you guys are either using a different rendering program or something else is going on.

Please fix the textures, the game deserves better.

Yeah, I noticed that, too. My character textures are on max, and while my other house pets and such have excellent textures, this thing is really, really low-res in comparison. And if this thing is going to be a raid mob, imagine how awful it'll look when it's suddenly the size of a house.

actually he didn't look that bad. and he's contested raid mob too. and not quite house big, but awful darn big.

as to the texture..have you thought that perhaps he's meant to look like that? I mean his design is supposed to be more like an anklosaurus with wings. as in big huge plates, not lots of tiny scales, or leathery skin.

So you are OK with blurry washed out plastic textures that looks like a 2 year-old kid was scribbling with a set of crayons?

Well I'm not.

And somehow I think the contested raid mob (which we saw a preview of) looks better than the hastily colored and pushed out the door to make a buck for easter versions I mentioned in the OP,

I was just about to create a thread myself. I love the pet and wanted to send a screenie to my sister, however even when I set the quality to extreme it looked really sub par. Just to clarify, if needed, the creature itself - its shape/form is perfect, its just the texture that's too low quality. Its like he only has a "High Performance" texture pack to him and not a "High Quality" one. If we could get a higher resolution render for the pet it would be great.

I noticed the off textures on the pet too. At first I thought it was a rendering glitch I've been getting (one item will render as a much lower quality than other things around it). I was too busy running away to take a good look at the textures of the contested mob to compare lol so I don't know if he is afflicted with low quality as well.

Seems to be worse or at least more noticable on the wings.

I am hoping this is just a mistake that will be corrected, he is a cute little drooly pug of a dragon. Then again the texture of the griffon had been mentioned a very long time ago and that didn't seem to change ever.

Real shame if this is what it's being moved towards.

**just making note that I run with all textures set to max all the time so it isn't my settings**

The new goofy looky jabberwockey SC mount is fine. Makes me think some one phoned the Beaster Basket Dragons in.

It looks to me that the dragon is meant to be a bit on the small side. It isn't really until people enlarge them that they start to look lower quality. They look like fat, sluggish young slobbering dragons. Keep them smaller and they look fine.

As I stated before it's most noticable to me on the wings, particular the boning & knuckle portions that are the dragons color.

I made mine as small as I possibly could, just to not notice it every time that thing runs by me in my house.

But the dragon isn't the only thing that's gotten low-quality textures lately. Even some stuff in the new Skyshrine zones and the crafted items from there are very blurry and definitely not high quality. :/

The vases that can be crafted look smudged/blurred too. I think it is the style of the art or the "look". But it needs some adjustment.

All you have to do is compare any of the T1 Dragons (Naggy) to the new one you get to talk to after doing the quests in WL.

Huge difference in quality. They changed software somewhere along the line and its very noticable.

I've noticed the low res textures on some of the new furniture, they are awful.

Some items are excellent, and others are terrible, I wonder what is going on?

Low res looking textures are also present on Dozekar, and the drakota mounts as well.

The comparable items are not blurry at all.
