You had me with the dragon house pets, then lost me again when I saw the item in-game and found out that it's a random chance at getting the color you want. Personally, I don't really care about the hats or cloaks, and would only be buying these for the dragons. I'll probably get one with the 500 sc I get with my subscription this month, but I won't be putting any additional money into this simply because I hate to destroy stuff and I don't want a ton of useless hats and cloaks sitting around. I kind of hoped that EQ2 wouldn't pull a Perfect World with random packs like this, but I guess I should have known better.

Edited to add that while I do detest random packs of any sort, at least they kind of make sense in Perfect World since you can resell your extras in the game. That's not the case here since the items are heirloom, so if you get a repeated color, you're stuck with it.

I like the idea of the random baskets.. but I would like it a lot more if you could either choose your set OR get a random set! The randomness is fun, but, like the above poster, I'd rather make sure I get the one(s) I want!

Please consider putting them up in color sets so we can buy the ones we want, while still keeping the set that spawns a random set. I don't want to drop a bunch of money on multiple sets just to get the same thing over and over.

It would be like collecting cards and trading for the ones you don't have. But I also don't like destroying things, especially things I'm using my hard earned money on, so I also will pass. No thank you SOE.

Going out on a limb here, but I think the idea is that they are all equally cute so the randomness simply adds a small mystery factor to a 100% fluff purchase. I'm sure they'll welcome folks spending more if they have their heart set on a particular color, but it seems like a bunny hat or a housepet is just not dire enough to focus a lot of angst on. In the spirit of the season I'll buy one, accept what I get (the "surprise" part), and move on.

Very cute, nice to see the dragons added this year and for a change-up on the cloaks and hats. I noticed with the dragons, if you tell them to stay it appears that they're breathing in their idle motion, but if you tell them to wake up they'll go through their other animations just fine, and walk around, but when they're in idle they no longer look like they're breathing. Took a video, hopefully that explains what I mean.

http://eq2.zam.com/video.html?video=738

edit: By the way, ^5 to whoever called the golden one "Lumpy". That was the first one I got and it reminded me of the Honvar video... :D

The Dev team 'affectionately' refers to Honvar internally as 'Lumpy' this was told to me in a PM that I sent with comments on the model.

I love the new sets! Though I am soooo glad I bought over 10 sets last year so I could get a pastel pink bunny hat and cloak for my pink unicorn riding halfling. Looks like those pink bunny hats are now a rare thing indeed.

Big diff between this year and last is the cost. It was 100 SC for a random cloak/hat combo. So trying over 10 times for the color I wanted was not really a problem. 500 SC is a diff matter. SoE really should have had the hat/cloak combos separate from the cute beasties. Made the beasties 350, made the hat/cloak 150.

But I am very happy about these sets. As I really wanted a cloak similar to the one in the new jester sets, but could not afford the full outfit set. (Several accounts have around 700 SC on them.)

And thanks so much for the timely SC sale! While we are still very low on funds, as mid month paycheck for my hubby is almost a week away, the sale means I can get one mount and my son can get a mount and 2 cute dragon house pets.

These were a bit addictive and I bought 7 total. Got double of black, purple, and red, and one blue (which was the one I wanted and the last I got). The chance of doubles should seriously be minimized though.
I got the sapphire set, and I have to say the bunny hat looks righteous on my ratonga. Almost as good as the Frostfell hat. Not sure why people are so bent out of shape about collecting all of the sets. I'm happy with my random one, and I used free monthly SC to buy it. /shrug

I wanted purple and black... Got purple on the first try and black on the second but believe me, my luck is usually NEVER that good. I'd have preferred to choose my color up front. I'm not really into gambling.

I wish, even with the SC bought stuff, if it's random which one you get that they would be trade-able. You can 'kinda' trade the house pet by placing it in someone else's house, but it's not really their possesion then.

I might have bought a few of them if I would have had at least a week to wear them; but just for the weekend? Nah, I'll pass. It's more fun to wear before an event than after.

I love how the article mentions nothing, NOTHING, about how this stuff is obtained. I guess the game has finally evolved to a point where the default assumption is anything new goes on the marketplace. Good going.

didnt want to ask same questions on marketplace topic, and i got no answer.

are they coming back for next spring? please.

also, dont "randomized", that is the dirtiest trick since STO's lockboxes, and still not able to afford the keys for hundred of boxes trying to get cardassian "Galor" battleship. many players getting upset and declairing "Online gambling" illegal, and several players quiting or closing the account.

yes, i agreed, i only had 2 dinodragons and stopped and wondering same tactic, wondering what to do with unwanted extras, that cost money too, cant fathom why it is hierloom instead of "tradable" so anyone can trade extras until they get the ones they need to finish a set.
