Ok so the initial discussion was a storm in a bottle and it turned out that the rumour was false.

The SLR cancer still needs to be dealt with. Can Piestro or another red name tell us if at least there is a plan for this to happen at some point ? Maybe use the in-game polls for this, even on the non-US servers .

They happen so often now it is hard to remember. lol

The lead designer commented in the thread and stated there was no plans or intention of changing loot mechanics.

That should be as definitive an answer as you need.

It really shouldn't bother you that others buy gear, you don't need to engage in it if you don't like it. It doesn't impact your game play. I personally don't like it and have a general rule I never buy loot off a mob I'm not already killing. But thats just my view on it.

The other thread is locked as it was a false rumour, this one is a simple question and suggestion.

We're not there yet though and weren't we told they'd use polls to gauge what people want ?

If you want a new fresh thread, please provide some new fresh ideas.

Why is it a cancer?

How can they handle loot issues with raids that have to swap characters for specific scripts while preventing SLR, or do you not think that is a problem they should care about?

Will it be different when raid spots are sold instead of raid items?

The only issue I see with this is some of the trivial methods in which plat enters the game.

It is not reasonable to me that everything be valued in 'PR units'. I don't think it was ever entended for the means of advanding your toons to be solo/duoing old raid content for plat to purchase gear.

I have no issues with SLR, but I do have issues in the lack of controls around the eq2 economy.

I wouldn't remove SLR, but tomorrow I would change chest coin loot to be a variable of how many people were present for the kill, so PR would be 75g ea for the kills. The result, you need to do content or things that net items/rewards that have value in the current economy in order to gain wealth, not repeat trivial things that yield no value to the marketplace.
