there is a few quests in the starter area of withered lands that there just isnt enough of with the few we have testing. the respawn needs to be quicker or more mobs need to be added or these updates will be impossible once it hits live.

the entraller plat in the kromzek ruins is one, they are needed for at least 2 quests and there is a total of 8 total spawns in the ruins...

Imagine 25 per instance on the same quest... this is actually an issue that needs to be addressed.

For those that remember the beach at Lavastorm post TSO launch, even with Void beasts spawning every 30 secs or so and with up to 6 instances of Lavastorm, there were not enough mobs.

Either the bottleneck areas need to be resized to about 4 times the size they are currently and/or the threshold for a new zone instance needs to be significantly reduced to something like 25 players.

I agree completely. While the Withered Lands is a very spread out zone, when you consider the actual playable part of the zone, it is one of the smallest overland quest-zones. Certainly immensly small when compared to the overland zones from SF or DoV (and let's not even think about a comparison to Kunark or Moors) It is not 'fun' to compete for simple solo quest updates with 5 or more people. It does not 'build community' if people have to spend hrs working on a quest that should take 10 minutes or less, simply because they can't manage to kill a mob they need before somebody else gets to the 8 of them in the entire zone.

I've experienced the problem of areas vacant of mobs for quest updates, too. I've also had some excitement as cleared areas respawn en masse on top of me!

If they change anything to adjust for this, I think it should be to lower the threshold for spawning new instances of the zone. In the Withered Lands, I've found that the mob density is actually quite high, with slim paths for threading through them --when a section hasn't been razed by adventurer locusts-- and respawn reasonably fast. I haven't copied over one of my low adventuring level crafters / max tradeskillers yet, but I decided to try out my dodge-and-weave skills on my main, with the objective to harvest materials without drawing aggro (or sprinting for safety the instant a mob starts to move). It was challenging, and most of the open paths I found didn't contain harvest nodes.

Mind you, I was only at the beginning area of Withered Lands. Perhaps there are sweeter spots further ahead, for those purposes.

I haven't really seen a problem with this yet. If I see a lot of people in one area then I just go to a different area and work on a different quest then come back. Haven't really had a huge problem though. Could be the time that I played too.
